''Golos'' (russian: Голос, Voice) was a Russian Empire, Russian Politics, political and Literature, literary newspaper, edited and published in Saint Petersburg in 1863-1885 by Andrey Krayevsky. One of the most successful Russian newspapers of the 19th century (its circulation in 1877 reached 22,630 and was rising), ''Golos'' supported the Liberalism, liberal Capitalism, capitalist reforms in Russia. In its first five years the newspaper received 11 official warnings and 3 bans, one of which resulted in a six-month gap. ''The Voice'' (russian: Голос, Golos), is a 1982 Soviet psychological drama film. It is based on the screenplay of the same name by Natalya Ryazantseva and directed by Ilya Averbakh. This is the last film by director Ilya Averbakh. Plot Actress Yulia Martynova (Natalya Sayko) is starring in a new film, but in the middle of the film production she is suddenly hospitalized with a serious illness. The film director (Leonid Filatov) is emotionally involved; he becomes frustrated, but the actress comes back from her hospital bed to the studio to continue her work in post-production. Yulia cannot imagine her character speaking with the voice of another actress, so she deals with her condition, taking drugs to overcome her pain, in order to contribute her original voice to the film. The cast and crew members help the star to overcome, and her original voice brings new depth and meaning to the film after her death. ''The Voice'' (russian: Голос) is a Russian singing competition television series broadcast on Channel One. Based on the original ''The Voice of Holland'', it has aired eight seasons and aims to find currently unsigned singing talent (solo or duets, professional and amateur) contested by aspiring singers, age 17 or over, drawn from public auditions. The winner is determined by television viewers voting by telephone, SMS text, and The Voice App. The winners of the ten seasons have been: Dina Garipova, Sergey Volchkov, Alexandra Vorobyova, Hieromonk Fotiy, Darya Antonyuk, Selim Alakhyarov, Petr Zakharov, Asker Berbekov, Yana Gabbasova and Alexander Volkodav. ''Golos Respubliki'' (Voice of the Republic; ) was a Kazakhstani newspaper. It was founded by Russian journalist Irina Petrushova in 2000. Published weekly, it focused on covering business and economic issues in Kazakhstan, and frequently published stories critical of the regime, including financial mismanagement and supposed cronyism, such as the granting of oil rights to one of President Nazarbayev's relatives, and the disappearance of funds for an airport in Almaty. The paper also claimed that Nazarbayev had sequestered US$1 billion of the state's oil revenues in a Swiss bank account, although the government stated that this had been an emergency fund used to rescue the national economy in 1998. ''Golos Truda'' (russian: Голос Труда ''The Voice of Labour'') was a Russian-language anarchist newspaper. Founded by working-class Russian expatriates in New York City in 1911, ''Golos Truda'' shifted to Petrograd during the Russian Revolution in 1917, when its editors took advantage of the general amnesty and right of return for political dissidents. There, the paper integrated itself into the anarchist labour movement, pronounced the necessity of a social revolution of and by the workers, and situated itself in opposition to the myriad of other left-wing movements. The rise to power of the Bolsheviks marked the turning point for the newspaper however, as the new government enacted increasingly repressive measures against the publication of dissident literature and against anarchist agitation in general, and after a few years of low-profile publishing, the ''Golos Truda'' collective was finally expunged by the Stalinist regime in 1929. Jacob Golos (born Yakov Naumovich Reizen, Russian: Яков Наумович Рейзен; April 24, 1889 - November 27, 1943) was a Ukrainian-born Bolshevik revolutionary who became an intelligence operative in the United States on behalf of the USSR. A founding member of the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA), ''circa'' 1930 Golos became involved in the covert work of Soviet intelligence agencies. He participated in procuring American passports by means of fraudulent documentation, and the recruitment and coordination of activities of a broad network of agents.
