Gollis is a Norwegian tourist attraction. It is a tall Santa Claus made out of plastic materials. It is located in Lyngseidet in Lyngen in the county of Troms og Finnmark. It has been claimed to be the world's biggest Santa Claus. History Gollis was built in 1992. It is popular with tourists, but the locals are divided in their views. Lyngseidet
Lyngseidet (also sme, Ivgumuotki or fkv, Yykeänmuotka) is the administrative centre of Lyngen Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located on an isthmus that is about wide between an arm of the Ullsfjorden and the Lyngenfjorden. The village is home to two grocery stores, Lyngen Church, nursing home, schools, daycare, pharmacy and library. A nine meter tall plastic figure Santa Claus named Gollis is also located here. Lyngseidet is located north of the village of Furuflaten and by ferry from Olderdalen, in the neighboring Kåfjord Municipality. Lyngen ( se, Ivggu suohkan; fkv, Yykeän komuuni) is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Lyngseidet.
