Golf At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's Individual
The women's golf tournament at the 2016 Summer Olympics placed at the Olympic Golf Course ( pt, Campo Olímpico de Golfe), built within the Reserva de Marapendi in the Barra da Tijuca zone, between 17 and 20 August 2016. It was the first women's golf tournament at the Olympics since 1900. Sixty players played four rounds of stroke play. The field included 57 professionals and three amateurs. The event was won by Inbee Park of South Korea with a score −16, defeating Lydia Ko from New Zealand and China's Shanshan Feng who won silver and bronze respectively. The medals were presented by Dick Pound, IOC member, Canada and Antony Scanlon, Secretary General of the IGF. Ariya Jutanugarn ( th, เอรียา จุฑานุกาล, , ; born 23 November 1995) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the American-based LPGA Tour. She was born in Bangkok. Chun In-gee ( ko, 전인지, born 10 August 1994), also known as In Gee Chun, is a South Korean professional golfer. She was born in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province. Marianne Skarpnord (born 11 February 1986) is a Norwegian professional golfer playing on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career As a junior, Skarpnord was considered one of the biggest talents in Norwegian golf. Candie Kung (; born 8 August 1981) is an American professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. Amateur career Kung was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
