Golf was one of the many sports which was held at the 2002 Asian Games in Asiad Country Club, Busan, South Korea between 3 and 6 October 2002. The event was open to amateur players only. A ria (; gl, rÃa) is a coastal inlet formed by the partial submergence of an unglaciated river valley. It is a drowned river valley that remains open to the sea. Definitions Typically rias have a dendritic, treelike outline although they can be straight and without significant branches. This pattern is inherited from the dendritic drainage pattern of the flooded river valley. The drowning of river valleys along a stretch of coast and formation of rias results in an extremely irregular and indented coastline. Often, there are naturally occurring islands, which are summits of partly submerged, pre-existing hill peaks. Ayako Uehara (golfer)
is a Japanese professional golfer. Uehara started playing golf at age 12, turned professional in 2003, and made her way onto the LPGA Tour on her first attempt. Together with Ai Miyazato and Sakura Yokomine, she was a member of the Japanese team that won a silver medal at the 2002 Asian Games. In 2016, Uehara made two holes-in-one during the Canadian Pacific Women's Open, tying the LPGA record for most holes-in-one in a single tournament. In November the same year, she set another record when she posted a score of 141 during round one of the Ito En Ladies Golf Tournament on the LPGA of Japan Tour. Uehara mistakenly applied the local rule of "lift, clean, and place" (common on the LPGA) when it should have been "lift, clean, and replace", earning her 68 penalties, two for each of the 19 violations and one for each of the 15 holes with an incorrect score on her scorecard. Yim Sung-ah
Yim Sung-ah (; born 20 March 1984) is a South Korean professional golfer. Pre-LPGA Tour days Yim was born in Seoul. She attended Yonsei University and turned professional in November 2002 while still a student. She was a member of the Korean team that won a gold medal at the 2002 Asian Games. Yim played on the LPGA of Korea Tour in 2003. Like many other South Korean women golfers, she soon began to play primarily in the United States, joining the second tier Futures Tour in 2004. LPGA Tour career and beyond In 2005 Yim began playing on the LPGA Tour. In April 2006 she won the Florida's Natural Charity Championship. Paired with Annika Sörenstam for the final round, Yim kept pace with the #1 ranked woman golfer in the world. Kim Joo-Mi (Korean 김주미 ) (born 16 July 1984), also known as Joo Mi Kim, is a South Korean professional golfer. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea. She attended Choo Ang University and turned professional in 2002. Kim won two tournaments on the LPGA of Korea Tour in 2003 and a third in 2004. In the latter year she finished 12th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn a place on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour in 2005. Ai Miyazato
is a former Japanese professional golfer who competed on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and the LPGA of Japan Tour (JLPGA). She was the top-ranked golfer in the Women's World Golf Rankings on three occasions in 2010. Early life, family and amateur career Miyazato was born on 19 June 1985 in Higashi, Okinawa, Japan.
