In October 2022 the project completed its hold point tests, and was approved by the Australian Energy Market Operator and Network Services Provider to generate up to its maximum capacity of 511MW into the National Electricity Market. In May 2017, Origin sold the development to Goldwind Australia for and signed a power purchase agreement to buy the electricity and Renewable Energy Certificates for less than /MWh. Moorabool Wind Farm is an operational wind farm located 25km south east of Ballarat in Victoria, Australia. The wind farm is in two parts. The northern part has 50 turbines and the southern part has 54 turbines. By December 2021, all 104 turbines had been put into place. The turbines each measure 169m to the tip of the blade. Development and purpose The farm is being developed by Goldwind Australia. When operational, it will be one of three wind farms in Moorabool Shire. The others are Yaloak South Wind Farm and Lal Lal Wind Farm. When fully operational, the farm will produce up to 312MW of electricity, enough energy to power approximately 228,000 Victorian homes. Cattle Hill Wind Farm
Cattle Hill Wind Farm is a wind farm project developed and constructed by Goldwind Australia, in Tasmania. The site is located on the eastern shore of Lake Echo on the southern side of the Central Plateau of Tasmania and connects into TasNetworks's transmission network at the adjacent Waddamana Substation. The facility began construction in 2018 and was completed in 2020 with the installation of 48 Goldwind GW140 3MW turbines, each standing at 170m tall. The wind farm's output of 144MW is equivalent to the consumption of approximately 63,000 homes. Operations The generation table uses "eljmkt nemlog", a tracker for the Australian National Energy Market, to obtain generation values for each month.
