Goldenboy
Goldenboy is an indie rock band from Los Angeles, California. Band name and roster Shon Sullivan is Goldenboy, named by Elliott Smith while touring with him in 2000. The first Goldenboy album, Blue Swan Orchestra, was released in October 2002 on B-Girl Records. Blue Swan Orchestra was recorded at Sullivan's studio in Diamond Bar, California and at singer Josie Cotton's studio in Malibu, California. The track "Summertime" features Elliott Smith on backing vocals. Goldenboy's second album, "Underneath the Radio" was released in October 2006 on Eenie Meenie Records. Shon Sullivan and Bryan Bos (drums) collaborated with Weezer's former bassist, Matt Sharp on this record. The album, "Sleepwalker", was released in 2011. "Sleepwalker" was recorded at Interstellar and Leaning Pine studios by Sullivan and Jon Crawford. Matthew Kelly Sharp (born September 22, 1969) is an American songwriter and musician. Until 1998, he was the bassist for the alternative rock band Weezer, which he cofounded in 1992. He appears on their first two albums, the ''Weezer (Blue Album), Blue Album'' (1994) and ''Pinkerton (album), Pinkerton'' (1996). In 1994, Sharp founded the The Rentals, Rentals, who have released four albums. Sharp has also released an EP and an album as a solo artist. Elliott Smith
Steven Paul Smith (August 6, 1969 – October 21, 2003), known professionally as Elliott Smith, was an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Smith was born in Omaha, Nebraska, raised primarily in Texas, and lived much of his life in Portland, Oregon, where he gained popularity. Smith's primary instrument was the guitar, though he also played piano, clarinet, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica. He had a distinctive vocal style, characterized by his "whispery, spiderweb-thin delivery", and often used multi-tracking to create vocal layers, textures, and harmonies. ''Below the Radio'' is a mixtape put together by Jason Lytle of American indie rock band Grandaddy, released in 2004 by record label Ultra. The album also included a new Grandaddy track, " Nature Anthem". Background Ultra Records had approached Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle via his management some time earlier with the idea for him to compile a mixtape, and he decided to include tracks that he considered "sleeper hits", identifying a common theme: "They all seem to have pretty conventional and familiar chord progressions. They all have vivid imagery for me with their words. There also seems to be a bit of sadness, but not necessarily despair." The Rentals are an American rock band fronted by vocalist Matt Sharp. Sharp has been the only consistent member since the group's inception. The band's best selling single is "Friends of P" (1995).
