Golden West High School is a four-year public high school in the Visalia Unified district of Visalia, California. It is one of eight city high schools and enrolls the third highest number of students. Academics Golden West offers 13 AP and four honors courses. In the 2018–2019 academic year, the average ACT score was 21 and the average SAT score was 59.2%. In the 2019–2020 academic year, about 61% of students were eligible for free lunch (compared to the state average of 53%), and about seven percent were eligible for reduced lunch (compared to the state average of seven percent). The Visalia Unified School District is a school district in Tulare County, California. Christopher Schwinden (born September 22, 1986) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in parts of two Major League seasons with the New York Mets. Professional career Schwinden was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 43rd round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft out of Golden West High School in Visalia, California, however he did not sign and attended and played baseball at Lewis–Clark State College (Idaho) in 2007; he then attended Fresno Pacific University in 2008. Matt Black (born 1970) is an American documentary photographer whose work has focused on issues of poverty, migration, and the environment. He is a full member of Magnum Photos. Black's first book, ''American Geography'', was published in 2021 and was exhibited at Deichtorhallen in Hamburg, Germany. Life and work Black was born in 1970 in Santa Maria, California. He grew up in the town of Visalia, in California's agricultural Central Valley. ''Falsettos'' is a sung-through musical with a book by William Finn and James Lapine, and music and lyrics by Finn. The musical consists of ''March of the Falsettos'' (1981) and ''Falsettoland'' (1990), the last two installments in a trio of one-act musicals that premiered off-Broadway (the first was ''In Trousers'').
