Golden Myanmar Airlines ( my, ရွှေမြန်မာ လေကြောင်းလိုင်း) is an airline in Myanmar currently offering domestic flights. It was established in August 2012. It was formed by 15 investors including the chairmen of CB Bank and Myanmar Golden Star. The company slogan is ''Enjoy to fly more''. CB Bank is one of Myanmar's oldest and largest commercial banks. It became the first bank in Myanmar to issue ATM cards and credit cards. The bank, led by U Khin Mg Aye (Chairman) and U Kyaw Lynn (CEO) has over 200 branches across the country. Myitkyina Airport is an airport in Myitkyina, Myanmar . Airlines and destinations History Built before World War II as Myitkyina Airfield, the airfield was captured by the Imperial Japanese Army on 8 May 1942 during the Japanese conquest of Burma. During the occupation, it was used by the Japanese Air Force as a fighter base, attacking Allied aircraft flying "the Hump" transport supply missions between India and China. The airfield was attacked on numerous missions by Tenth Air Force and Royal Air Force fighter and bombers until it was captured by Merrill's Marauders (officially named the 6th Ranger Battalion-5307th Composite Unit (provisional)) on 17 May 1944, but fighting continued in Myitkyina town until August 1944. Thandwe
Thandwe ("Thandway" in Arakanese; ; formerly Sandoway) is a town and major seaport in Rakhine State, the westernmost part of Myanmar. Thandwe is very ancient, and is said to have been at one time the capital of Rakhine State, then called Arakan. The district has an area of . The area is mountainous, and spurs of the Arakan Mountains reach the coast. Some of the peaks in the north are over high. The streams are only mountain torrents to within a few miles of the coast; the mouth of the Khwa forms a good anchorage for small boats. Sittwe Airport is an airport in Sittwe, Rakhine State, Myanmar. In Burmese it is known as စစ်တွေ လေဆိပ်. It started as RAF Station Sittwe, a military airfield in World War II. It was handed over to Department of Civil Aviation by International Aero Limited Company on 24 July 1947. It was upgraded to 6,000 feet long and 140 feet wide gravel mixed asphalt runway in 1960. The airport building was extended to 220 feet by 60 feet from 120 feet by 60 feet and it was opened on 22 March 2002. 4 feet thick asphalt concrete layer was placed on the 6000 x 150 feet runway, the 525 x 75 feet taxiway and the 600 x 300 feet apron and opened on 20 May 2009 for use of F-28 jets.
