A miniseries or mini-series is a television series that tells a story in a predetermined, limited number of episodes. Charles Mayer (actor)
Charles Mayer (born 13 February 1970) is an English actor. Early life Charles Mayer was born in South Tidworth, Hampshire, England, the son of Jennifer-Ann Wright, a retired RAF Intelligence officer and Martin Mayer, an RAF test pilot. He has one elder and one younger sister, with two nieces and two nephews. He passed the Regular Commissions Board and in 1992 entered Sandhurst, from where he was commissioned into the Welsh Guards. After the Platoon Commander's Battle Course, he took over a platoon in Northern Ireland in January 1993. He spent four years as an officer in Northern Ireland, two years as an instructor at the Infantry Training Centre, Catterick, two years on ceremonial duties in London, and a further two years in Tidworth, working in an office 100 yards from where he was born. Gerda Maureen Nicolson (11 November 1937 – 12 June 1992) was an Australian theatre and television actress best known for several long-running television roles. She was best known for playing Governor Ann Reynolds of the Wentworth Detention Centre in soap opera ''Prisoner''. Early life Gerda Maureen Nicolson was born in Hobart, Tasmania, to parents both involved in theatre. In 1959, she travelled to London with her parents, and attended many stage performances. Career On returning to Australia in 1961, Gerda joined Melbourne University's Graduate Society and acted in a number of its amateur stage plays while working as a draughtsperson at the Victorian Health Department.
