''Spirit of Communication'' is the formal name for the statue by Evelyn Beatrice Longman originally called ''Genius of Telegraphy''. The statue has been the symbol of AT&T (and also the former Western Electric) since their commission was completed in 1916. It is also known informally as the ''Golden Boy'' statue and formerly as ''Genius of Electricity''. Commissioned for 195 Broadway in New York City, the sculpture has followed AT&T to other sites in New York and New Jersey over the years. In 2009, the statue was relocated to AT&T's current corporate headquarters in downtown Dallas, Texas, U.S. As of 2022, the statue is located outside in the AT&T Discovery District in Downtown Dallas. History Commissioned in 1914, it was crafted by Evelyn Beatrice Longman. The work was completed in 1916 and hoisted to the roof of AT&T Corporate Headquarters at 195 Broadway in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan. Production In 2001, Dulli started to work on the follow-up to The Twilight Singers' debut album ''Twilight as Played by The Twilight Singers''. However, the death of his close friend Ted Demme in January 2002 led him to decide to start a new project in tribute to Demme that would eventually become ''Blackberry Belle''. The song "Cigarettes" became "Follow You Down" on ''Blackberry Belle''. Three years later, Dulli decided to release the songs on his own label, Infernal Recordings. ''The History Mix Volume 1'' is the sixth studio album by English duo Godley & Creme, released in 1985 by Polydor Records. The album was a remix of songs spanning the career of Godley & Creme and their earlier bands, 10cc, Doctor Father and Hotlegs. Overview The album produced two singles, "Cry" and a remix of "Golden Boy", the former which became a groundbreaking music video featuring numerous "changing faces" that cross-faded from one to another as they mimed the lyrics to the song. "Wet Rubber Soup" was also made into a video, which was effectively a collage of snippets from Godley and Creme's past work.
