Golden Ballet (foaled January 24, 1998) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2001 Santa Anita Oaks. Career Golden Ballet's first race was on March 23, 2000, where she came in third at Santa Anita. She got her first win in her fourth race, when she won the Nursery Stakes at Hollywood Park Racetrack on May 20, 2000. This race began a five race win streak for Golden Ballet. Golden Ballet's next win was at the June 18, 2000, Cinderella Stakes. She then picked up her first graded win by capturing the January 20th, 2001, Santa Ynez Stakes. She then captured a pair of grade 1 wins, by winning the 2001 Las Virgenes Stakes and the 2001 Santa Anita Oaks. Her winstreak snapped when she ran second in the April 7, 2001, Ashland Stakes. Nijinsky
Vaslav (or Vatslav) Nijinsky (; rus, Вацлав Фомич Нижинский, Vatslav Fomich Nizhinsky, p=ˈvatsləf fɐˈmʲitɕ nʲɪˈʐɨnskʲɪj; pl, Wacław Niżyński, ; 12 March 1889/18908 April 1950) was a ballet dancer and choreographer cited as the greatest male dancer of the early 20th century. Born in Kiev to Polish parents, Nijinsky grew up in Imperial Russia but considered himself to be Polish. He was celebrated for his virtuosity and for the depth and intensity of his characterizations. He could dance ''en pointe'', a rare skill among male dancers at the time, and was admired for his seemingly gravity-defying leaps. Seattle Slew (February 15, 1974 – May 7, 2002) was a champion American Thoroughbred horse racing, racehorse who became the tenth winner of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing (United States), American Triple Crown (1977). He is one of only two horses to have won the Triple Crown while being undefeated in any previous race; the second was Justify (horse), Justify who won the Triple Crown in 2018 and is descended from Seattle Slew. Nasomo (1956-1968) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse from the Pine Tree Stables, registered in Freeport, Bahamas. He was a son of Nasrullah. Nasomo was owned by Mrs. Pauline Woolworth of Winthrop, Massachusetts, and had lifetime earnings of . Track record at Belmont Park On September 4, 1959 the three-year-old colt eclipsed the track record at Belmont Park, covering the mile and a sixteenth course in 1:40 4/5. Nasomo equaled the mile record at Belmont Park, 1:34 4/5, then shared by Count Fleet and Blessbull. Buckpasser (1963–1978) was a champion American Thoroughbred racehorse who was the 1966 Horse of the Year. His other achievements include 1965 Champion Two-Year-Old, 1966 Champion Three-Year-Old, 1966 Champion Handicap Horse, and 1967 Champion Handicap Horse. He was also the leading broodmare sire in 1983, 1984, and 1989. Background Buckpasser was a bay colt that was bred and owned by Ogden Phipps and foaled at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Kentucky. Princequillo (1940–1964) was a Thoroughbred racehorse conceived in France and born in Ireland. He is known for his performances in long-distance races and his successes as a sire. Background His sire, Prince Rose, stood at the Haras de Cheffreville stud farm in France and was mated to the mare Cosquilla. When World War II broke out, the pregnant mare was shipped to Ireland, where she gave birth to Princequillo. Considering the danger from German bombing and the likelihood there would be no racing for some considerable time, Cosquilla's owners shipped her and her colt to the United States. Bull Page (1947 – 1976) was a Canadian Hall of Fame Thoroughbred racehorse and an important sire. Bred by Woodvale Farm in Kentucky, he was out of the mare Our Page, winner of the historic Spinaway Stakes in 1942 and a daughter of the 1929 American Horse of the Year and U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee Blue Larkspur. He was sired by Calumet Farm's Bull Lea, a five-time North American Champion Sire. Conformation defects resulted in Bull Page being sold at the 1948 Keeneland July sale for $38,000, a relatively low price for a Bull Lea colt whose son Citation had just won the U.S. Triple Crown.
