GoldenEye (soundtrack)
''GoldenEye: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from the United Artists film'' is the soundtrack to the ''James Bond'' film of the same name and was composed by Éric Serra. It was released by EMI on November 14, 1995. Serra composed and performed a number of synthesizer tracks, including the radically reworked version of the ''James Bond Theme'' that plays during the gun barrel sequence, while John Altman and David Arch provided the more traditional symphonic music. The producers hired composer John Altman to write a more traditional, orchestral score piece for the tank-chase scene in St. Petersburg. Serra's original, unused track for that sequence can still be found on the soundtrack album as "A Pleasant Drive in St. Petersburg". The theme song "GoldenEye" was written by Bono and The Edge of rock band U2 and was performed by Tina Turner. Éric Serra
Éric Serra (; born 9 September 1959) is a French composer. He is a frequent collaborator of film director Luc Besson. Early life Serra was born in Saint-Mandé. His father Claude was a famous French songwriter in the 1950s and '60s, and so Éric was thus exposed to music and its production at a young age. His mother died when he was just seven years old. Career In the early 1980s, Éric Serra met director Luc Besson and was asked to score his first film, ''Le Dernier Combat'' (1983). Serra has scored all of Besson's directed films to date, except '' Angel-A'' (2005) (scored by Anja Garbarek), and several that Besson has written, such as ''Wasabi''. In 1995, Serra was chosen to compose the score to the James Bond film ''GoldenEye'', and produced a much more modern-sounding avant-garde soundtrack than had been used in previous Bond films. David Howell Evans (born 8 August 1961), better known as the Edge or simply Edge,McCormick (2006), pp. 21, 23–24 is an English-born Irish musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as the lead guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist of the rock band U2. Starr Parodi (born in Los Angeles, California) is an American composer, pianist, conductor, arranger, music director and former president of The Alliance For Women Film Composers. Parodi has won multiple BMI most performed music awards, Key Art and Telly Awards. ''Da Capo'' is the fourth studio album released by Swedish pop group Ace of Base. It was released in 2002 in Europe (on Edel-Mega/Universal) and Japan (on Toshiba EMI with a different cover and additional tracks). The album is named for the musical term ''da capo'', meaning "back to the beginning." It was intended to be a return to the band's initial sound. Background The album was initially slated for a summer 2000 release, but problems with Ace of Base's record labels caused it to be delayed for another year. The band's record label demanded that many of the album's songs be reworked with additional producers. Ultimately, ''Da Capo'' came out at the end of September 2002, and resulted in very low album sales in many European territories. ''GoldenEye 007'' is a 2010 first-person shooter video game developed by Eurocom and published by Activision for the Wii, with a handheld version for Nintendo DS developed by n-Space.
