Gold Star Marching Band
The Gold Star Marching Band or also known as "The Pride of North Dakota" is the marching band of North Dakota State University. It is a non-auditioned band (with the exception of the battery section), open to all majors. With approximately 160 members, the band is one of the largest organizations on campus. About the GSMB The GSMB does pregame and halftime performances for the NDSU Bison Football team in the Fargodome. The band usually plays seven shows a year including all football games and sometimes one away game, marches the homecoming parade, and does a handful of other performances at NDSU and in the Fargo-Moorhead area. The GSMB has also performed at the Minnesota State Fair in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022 marching in the Sunday parade. The band also visited Ireland over the years for a trip, as well as joining the football team in Frisco, Texas for the FCS National Championship games. The North Dakota State Bison football program represents North Dakota State University in college football at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision level and competes in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Fargodome
Fargodome is an indoor athletic stadium in the north central United States, located on the campus of North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, North Dakota. Opened in late 1992, the facility is owned by the City of Fargo and built on university land. Not an actual dome, its seating capacity is 18,700 for football and over 25,000 for full arena concerts. Dacotah Field
Dacotah Field is an outdoor stadium in the north central United States, on the campus of North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, North Dakota. It is the former home of the NDSU Bison football team. The field runs east-west at an approximate elevation of above sea level. Dacotah Field opened in 1910, north of Festive Hall on campus. A quarter-mile cinder track and a 7,000-seat stadium were added in 1938 as part of one of the federal government's Works Progress Administration (WPA) construction projects; it had a final seating capacity of 13,000. The field moved farther north in 1949 to its present location, completed in time for the 1950 season. A 1952 fire destroyed two-thirds of the north stands but, in 1972, the remaining wooden bleachers were replaced with a new 7,000-seat grandstand, courtesy of the New England Patriots. "The Yellow and The Green'" is the Alma Mater of North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. "The Yellow and The Green" was written by a young North Dakota Agricultural College (now known as North Dakota State University) faculty member, Archibald E. Minard, in 1907. Minard later took the lyrics to Dr. Clarence S. Putnam, a fellow NDAC professor, to develop a musical setting for the lyrics.
