Kid Galahad (band)
The Furze are a Great Britain, British Independent music, indie band from Maidenhead, Berkshire, England. The members of the band have been recording together for more than ten years, and the same line-up have previously performed under the name Kid Galahad. The band’s current name is a reference to Maidenhead#Geography, Furze Platt, the suburb of Maidenhead where all the members hail from. Their music style has been compared to that of Beck and Jane's Addiction. The band have supported a number of prominent bands and artists at concerts around the world, including Marillion, Kaiser Chiefs, Supergrass, Oasis (band), Oasis, Kings of Leon and Elliott Smith. The band have bemoaned the lack of live music venues and outlets for local talent in the Maidenhead area, and as a result have invested in Denmark Studios in the town. Jim Abbiss
Jim Abbiss is a British music producer, best known for his work on records including the debut album of Editors ('' The Back Room''), Arctic Monkeys' Mercury Music Prize winning debut album, ''Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'', Kasabian's ''Kasabian'' and ''Empire'', Ladytron's ''Witching Hour'' and ''Ladytron'', Sneaker Pimps' debut ''Becoming X'', and Adele's '' 19'', and '' 21''. ''Runaway Train EP'' was the third of a trio of limited edition EP releases from the British band Kid Galahad that led up to the release of their debut album ''Gold Dust Noise'' the following summer. The title track "Runaway Train" was recorded in the studio and was produced by Jim Abbiss who had previously worked with artists such as UNKLE and DJ Shadow. Whilst the other three tracks were demo recordings produced by the band before signing to Ignition Records. ''The Bedroom Tapes'' is the 18th studio album by American singer-songwriter Carly Simon, released by Arista Records, on May 16, 2000. The album received widespread critical acclaim upon release, and Simon promoted it through many television appearances; notably on Good Morning America, where she performed a concert in Bryant Park on May 19, 2000, which featured songs from the album, as well as some of her classic hits, such as " You're So Vain" and " Nobody Does It Better". Despite the warm reception, the album soon went out of print. In 2002, Simon released autographed limited editions of ''The Bedroom Tapes,'' with two bonus tracks: "Grandmother's House" and "Sangre Dolce". The release was limited to only 100 copies.
