Plot As described in a film magazine review, a representative of mining interests is determined to capture the crooks who are stealing the gold shipments. The villains execute the robberies by using the gold shipment trucks. The agent falls in love with the young woman whose father is the ringleader of the bandits. Edmund Mortimer (actor)
Edmund Mortimer (born Edmund Mortimer Olson; August 21, 1874 – May 21, 1944) was an American actor and film director. Early years Mortimer's family was "prominent socially in Brooklyn and Washington". His father (also named Edmund Mortimer Olson) was a captain in the U. S. Navy. As a boy, Mortimer sang in church choirs and participated in other musical activities in Brooklyn. His military service included membership; in the Second Naval Battalion and in Company C, 23rd Regiment. Career Mortimer began acting on stage in 1904 and went on to perform with several theatrical companies. He appeared in more than 250 films between 1913 and 1945. He also directed 23 films between 1918 and 1928, including ''The Arizona Romeo'' (1925). Claude Payton
Claude Duval Payton (March 30, 1882 in Centerville, Iowa – March 1, 1955 in Los Angeles, California) was an American actor in many silent films and other films. On stage, Claude Payton toured with the Spooner Stock Company, which was headed by his brother, Corse Payton, and his sister, Cecil Spooner. By 1914, Claude was working at the Thanhouser film producing company in New Rochelle, New York, where he mainly played the roles of villains or lawmen in Western films. Although Claude Payton survived the transition from silent movies to films with sound, in 1935 he was mainly in minor supporting roles in films. Claude retired from the filmmaking business in the mid-1940s. Carole Lombard (born Jane Alice Peters; October 6, 1908 – January 16, 1942) was an American actress, particularly noted for her energetic, often off-beat roles in screwball comedies. In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Lombard 23rd on its list of the greatest female stars of Classic Hollywood Cinema. Lombard was born into a wealthy family in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised in Los Angeles by her single mother. Lucien Littlefield (August 16, 1895 – June 4, 1960) was an American actor who achieved a long career from silent films to the television era. He was noted for his versatility, playing a wide range of roles and already portraying old men before he was of voting age. Life and career Lucien Littlefield was born in San Antonio, Texas and attended Staunton Military Academy. He started his movie career in 1913 and worked as an actor until his death in 1960. He usually portrayed comedic supporting characters, often much older than himself. His role of the doctor in '' The Cat and the Canary'' (1927) is one of his more notable performances. The character actor appeared with Laurel and Hardy, first as an eccentric professor in '' Dirty Work'' and finally as a veterinarian in '' Sons of the Desert'', both made in 1933.
