Gold (stylised as WIN GOLD) is an Australian advertorial datacasting channel that launched on 1 May 2012 by the WIN Corporation. It is available to homes in most regional WIN Television viewing areas on LCN 85. The channel broadcasts mostly infomercials, as well as education, lifestyle, community programming as well as television classics from the Crawfords library. History On 26 April 2012, a test broadcast commenced on LCN 84 with the channel name "TBA". On 30 April 2012, the broadcast changed to a screen informing viewers that WIN Gold would commence on 1 May 2012 as seen in the referenced video. The channel launched at 6am and was initially branded as "WIN Gold", until it was changed to simply Gold on 5 May 2012. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. An advertorial is an advertisement in the form of editorial content. The term "advertorial" is a blend (see portmanteau) of the words "advertisement" and "editorial." Merriam-Webster dates the origin of the word to 1946. In printed publications, the advertisement is usually written to resemble an objective article and designed to ostensibly look like a legitimate and independent news story. In television, the advertisement is similar to a short infomercial presentation of products or services. Timeshift Channel
A timeshift channel (sometimes referred to as a +1 channel) is a television channel carrying time-delayed reruns of its "parent" channel's programming. This channel runs alongside their parent: the term "timeshift" does not refer to a network broadcasting at a later time to reflect a local time zone, unless the parent is also available. Often the timeshift channel's branding and advertising will be the same as that of the parent, with the channel number and respective timing being the only distinction between the two, but some, such as Channel 4 +1 in the United Kingdom and TVNZ 1+1 in New Zealand, will overlay a different digital on-screen graphic to distinguish the two channels. Extra is an Australian free-to-air television channel launched on 26 March 2012. It broadcasts mainly infomercials, religion, community, educational, multi-cultural programming as well as stories taken from Nine Network programs including ''A Current Affair'', '' Getaway'', ''Today'' and ''Today Extra''. MGS and LRS are television stations owned by WIN Corporation in South Australia. Both are relays of ADS (TV station), ADS-10 in Adelaide, and brand as 10 SA. Before 2004, SES/RTS, SES was the only commercial television station broadcasting in Mount Gambier and the southeast of South Australia. The SES/RTS, SES studios were located on John Watson Drive, Mount Gambier. Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems. 10 Bold is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel owned by Network 10. It originally launched on 26 March 2009 as One HD with a focus on broadcasting sports-based programming and events, but rebranded to One in April 2011 to more reality, scripted and adventure-based programming aimed at males between the ages of 25 to 54.
