GoldSpirit Awards
The GoldSpirit Awards, yearly granted through the website BSOSpirit, are devoted to soundtracks and film music fans. BSOSpirit was released on 2001, as a Spanish website relating soundtracks and film music. Attempting to emphasize and recognize the role of the music in movies (contrary to other awards), since 2002, visitors can vote for their favorite scores and composers of the last year for the GoldSpirit Awards. The name GoldSpirit comes from the contraction of ''Goldsmith'' (for the late composer Jerry Goldsmith, an homage to his figure) and ''Spirit'' (for ''BSOSpirit''). ''BSO'' stands for ''Banda Sonora Original'' (in English, ''Original Soundtrack'', OST). Jerrald King Goldsmith (February 10, 1929July 21, 2004) was an American composer and conductor known for his work in film and television scoring. He composed scores for five films in the ''Star Trek'' franchise and three in the Rambo (franchise), ''Rambo'' franchise, as well as for ''Logan's Run (film), Logan's Run'', ''Planet of the Apes (1968 film), Planet of the Apes'', ''Tora! Úbeda
Úbeda (; from Iberian ''Ibiut'') is a town in the province of Jaén in Spain's autonomous community of Andalusia, with 34,733 (data 2017) inhabitants. Both this city and the neighbouring city of Baeza benefited from extensive patronage in the early 16th century resulting in the construction of a series of Renaissance style palaces and churches, which have been preserved ever since. In 2003, UNESCO declared the historic cores and monuments of these two towns a World Heritage Site. History Recent archaeological findings indicate a pre-Roman settlement at Úbeda, such as argaric and iberic remains. The capital of the iberic state was called Iltiraka and was located over the Guadalquivir river, 10 km south of the actual site of the town. Romans and later Visigoths occupied the site as a settlement. During the Reconquista, in 1233, King Ferdinand III conquered the city to the Kingdom of Castile.
