"Going Nowhere" is a song by English singer-songwriter Gabrielle. It was written by Gabrielle and George McFarlane and produced by Pete Cragie for Gabrielle's debut studio album, ''Find Your Way'' (1993). Released as the album's second single on 20 September 1993 by Go! Beat, the song reached number nine on the UK Singles Chart and number 18 in Ireland. It also peaked at number three on the Canadian ''RPM'' Dance/Urban chart and number 14 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play chart. Critical reception In his weekly UK chart commentary, James Masterton wrote, "The girl and her eyepatch followup the summer's big No.1 " Dreams" with a track slightly more representative of her usual output and without the novelty value maybe not quite as big a hit." Louise Gabrielle Bobb (born 19 July 1969), known professionally as Gabrielle, is a British singer and songwriter. Bobb was born in Hackney, London. She released her debut single, "Dreams", in 1993, and it topped the UK Singles Chart the same year. Her other singles include " Going Nowhere", "Give Me a Little More Time", " Walk On By", and " If You Ever" — a duet with East 17. After a few quiescent years, Gabrielle made a comeback with "Rise", which became her second UK number one, in 2000. Her album of the same name reached the top spot on the UK Albums Chart, where it stayed for three weeks. The song " Out of Reach", from the soundtrack to ''Bridget Jones's Diary'', reached number four on the UK Singles Chart. Portishead (band)
Portishead () is an English band formed in 1991 in Bristol. The band is named after Portishead, Somerset, eight miles west of Bristol, along the coast. The band comprises vocalist Beth Gibbons, producer Geoff Barrow, and musician Adrian Utley; Dave McDonald, an engineer on their first records, is sometimes cited as the fourth member. ''DV'' (''Dagblaðið Vísir'') is an online newspaper in Iceland published by Torg ehf. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged. Early on it was one of the largest newspapers in Iceland and at one point had a 64% readership in Iceland. In the 1990s its readership started to dwindle and in 2003 its publisher was declared bankrupt. It was resurrected a week later by the publisher of Fréttablaðið.
