picture info	Gohrisch (hill) The Gohrisch (wrongly also called the ''Gohrischstein'', 440 m) is a table hill in the German region of Saxon Switzerland, left of the River Elbe in Saxony. Location and surrounding area The Gohrisch is located about four kilometres southeast of Königstein (Sächsische Schweiz), Königstein and some four kilometres south of Bad Schandau in the centre of a plateau (''Ebenheit'') that is dominated by similar rocky hills. It is surrounded by the hills of the Papststein, the Kleinhennersdorfer Stein and the Lasensteine. Touristically this micro-region in Saxon Switzerland is often called the "Region of Rocks" (''Gebiet der Steine''). At the foot of the Gohrisch lie the small villages of Kurort Gohrisch and Papstdorf, which belong to the municipality of Gohrisch. On the east side is the Speckstein Gallery (''Specksteinstollen'') which bears witness to former prospecting in this area. picture info	Elbe Sandstone Mountains The Elbe Sandstone Mountains, also called the Elbe Sandstone Highlands (german: Elbsandsteingebirge; cs, Děčinská vrchovina), are a mountain range straddling the border between the state of Saxony in southeastern Germany and the North Bohemian region of the Czech Republic, with about three-quarters of the area lying on the German side. In both countries, core parts of the mountain range have been declared a national park. The name derives from the sandstone which was carved by erosion. The river Elbe breaks through the mountain range in a steep and narrow valley. 	Lilienstein Z Gohrisch Lilienstein is a highly distinctive mountain in Saxon Switzerland, in Saxony, southeastern Germany, and was once the site of a Bohemian castle. It is one of the few table mountains on the east of the river Elbe and constitutes the symbol of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Name The name is not related to the flower lily (German: Lilie) but is probably derived from St. Gilgen or St. Ilgen (earlier names of the mountain were „Ylgenstein“ und „Illgenstein“).
