Goher Mumtaz
Goher Mumtaz ( ur, گوہر ممتاز ) is a Pakistani musician, singer-songwriter, music composer, guitarist and actor. He is famous for being the founding member of rock band Jal. Early life Goher was born in Lahore. As a child, Goher practiced music on a keyboard which he got as a gift. At 16, he sold his bike to buy his first guitar which he hid under his bed due to parent's restrictions. After his high school exams, Goher suffered an accident and was confined to bed for six months. This gave him time and space to grasp every note in the music that he listened to. With no formal training, Goher taught himself composition, song writing and singing. Later, he won in many college-level music competitions and gained momentum by performing at local restaurants in Lahore. Lux Style Awards
The Lux Style Awards is an award ceremony held annually in Pakistan since 2002. The awards celebrate "style" in the Pakistani entertainment industry, and it is the oldest event dedicated to cinema, television, fashion, music and film industry in Pakistan. Categories have changed over the years, but most are awarded by panels of judges who are experts in the respective industries, with some "people's choice" awards in the film and TV categories. Hum Awards are annual Pakistani accolades bestowed by the Hum Network Limited in recognition of excellence in programming of television, fashion and music industry of Pakistan. Coke Studio (Pakistani Season 4)
The fourth season of the Pakistani music television series '' Coke Studio'' commenced airing on 22 May 2011 and ended on 17 July 2011. Rohail Hyatt and his wife Umber Hyatt remained as the producers of the show. The houseband recruited drummer Raheel Manzar Paul and vocalist Rachel Viccaji. The houseband saw Sanam Saeed and Saba Shabbir leaving the band and the rest of the houseband remained unchanged. Artists Sanam Marvi made a return to the fourth season of the show performing for the second time at ''Coke Studio'', she first appeared in the previous season. Aadat (album)
''Aadat'' is a 2004 studio album by the Pakistani band Jal. The album features three bonus tracks (Dr. Zeus & Kais Mix) and has an exclusive bonus VCD with all Jal videos. Copyright dispute Atif Aslam released his debut solo album '' Jal Pari'' after he left the band, which included some songs from ''Aadat'': "Lamhey" (titled as "Bheegi Yaadein" on ''Jal Pari''), "Dil Haarey" (titled as "Ankhon Se" on ''Jal Pari'') and "Rangon Mein" (titled as "Zindagi" on ''Jal Pari''). This led to a dispute between Aslam and Jal about who owned the rights to the songs, as Mumtaz took the dispute to court. However, the final statement from the court went somewhat in favour of both the artists as the songs which were included in both the artist albums were compositions of both Aslam and Mumtaz. Farhan Saeed
Farhan Saeed Butt is a Pakistani singer-songwriter, actor, music video director, and entrepreneur. Saeed is the former lead vocalist of the Pakistani band Jal and owns the restaurant ''Cafe Rock'' in Lahore. He sings in Urdu and Punjabi. Personal life Farhan Saeed Butt was born into a Punjabi Kashmiri family. Both his parents are practicing doctors. A music fan from the very start, he used to listen to Vital Signs and Junoon and centred his music around pop, and at times folk. Aadat (song)
'Aadat'' ( ) is originally a song by Jal band. It was sung by Atif Aslam and composed by Goher Mumtaz. Later it was released in several different versions in Jal's album Aadat by Farhan Saeed and Atif Aslam's solo album Jal Pari. It was also used in the Bollywood films Kalyug and Chocolate. Original/JalPari Version The song was written by Goher Mumtaz, sung by Atif Aslam, music by the band Jal. That time, Atif was the lead singer of Jal. Atif recorded Aadat with his pocket money at the age of 17. The band released the song on the internet in December 2003. The song was used in Atif Aslam's first solo album Jal Pari. The song became a youth anthem. By the time the song was released, it became a major hit in the subcontinent and all radio and TV stations started playing the song.
