Sherpathri is one of the Block in District Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It was formed in 2014 by the J&K Govt and is located at a distance of 5 km from the main town. Wakura
Wakura (''sometimes spelled'' Wakoora or Wakora) is a village located in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. In 2013 it was given tehsil status, with the tehsil headquarters located in Lar, 13 km away. Geography Wakura is located 12 km towards west from district headquarters in Ganderbal, 20 km from union territory capital Srinagar. Wakura is divided into two Patwar Halqas viz; wakura and rakh-i-rabitar. Dab irrigation canal flows through the village dividing the village almost into two parts. Another irrigation canal called locally as Pout Kul also flows but its flow is restricted through inhabited area of the village. Kheer Bhawani Temple
Kheer Bhawani, Ksheer Bhawani or the Ragnya Devi temple is a Hindu temple situated at a distance of north-east of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, in the village of Tulmul in Ganderbal. It is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kheer Bhavani constructed over a sacred spring. As is the custom with Hindu deities, the goddess has many names including ''Ragyna'' or ''Rajna'', along with variations in honorifics such as devi, mata or bhagavati. The term ''kheer'' refers to a milk and rice pudding that is offered to propitiate the goddess. Kheer Bhawani is sometimes translated as 'Milk Goddess'. Sind River
The Sind River or the Sindh River is a river in the Ganderbal district of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is a major tributary of the Jhelum River and is 108 kilometres long. Geography The Sind River forms the Sind Valley. The source of the river lies in the Machoi Glacier at an elevation of 4800m, east of the Amarnath temple and south of the Zoji La. It flows through Panjtarni (a camping site of Amarnath yatra) southwards up to Domail where it joins a tributary which doubles its flow from the Kolhoi Glacier. It then flows mostly westwards along the NH 1D and is fed by many glacial streams on its way to Ganderbal town. At Kichpora Preng it is fed by the Wangath river which flows down from the Gangabal Lake.
