Gocha Khugaev
Gocha Khugaev, (Russian: Гоча Олегович Хугаев) (born 16 July 1984) is a Russian athlete who competes in disability athletics in the F58 category. At the 2012 European Championships Khugaev set a European record whilst winning the 200 metres. He also won gold in the long jump in a combined F37/38 class, however an illegal wind reading of 2.4 m/s prevented him from setting a world record. Khugaev set a F37 world record for the long jump at the London Paralympic Games as he won gold in a combined F37/38 class. T37 (classification)
T37 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics in track and jump events. It includes people who have coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis. It is the athletics equivalent of the more general CP7 classification. Definition This classification is for disability athletics in track and jump events. This classification is one of seven classifications for athletes with cerebral palsy. Similar classifications are T32, T33, T34, T35, T36, and T38. The Australian Paralympic Committee defines this classification as being for "Moderate to minimal hemiplegia (i.e. one half of the body affected – arm and leg on same side). Good functional ability in non affected side. Walks / runs without assistive devices, but with a limp." 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships
The 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships was a track and field competition for athletes with a disability open to International Paralympic Committee (IPC) affiliated countries within Europe, plus Azerbaijan and Israel. It was held in Swansea, Wales and lasted from 18 to 23 August. The competition was staged at Swansea University Stadium. Approximately 550 athletes from 37 countries attended the games. Russia won the Games atop the medal table with 41 Gold medals, and also collected the greatest overall medal haul with 88. The host nation, Britain, finished third. Of the 37 competing nations, 34 managed to achieve a podium finish. There were seven world records set and a further seven European records, in a games that was beset by difficult weather conditions throughout the tournament.
