Jan Izydor Rybkowski (4 April 1912 – 29 December 1987) was a Polish film director. He directed 30 films between 1949 and 1984. His 1961 film ''Tonight a City Will Die'' was entered into the 2nd Moscow International Film Festival. Two years later, he was a member of the jury at the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival. Wojciech Pszoniak
Wojciech Zygmunt Pszoniak (2 May 1942 – 19 October 2020) was a Polish film and theatre actor. Biography and career Pszoniak was born in Lwów, Nazi occupied Poland, now in Ukraine. He gained international visibility following Andrzej Wajda's 1975 film ''The Promised Land (1975 film), The Promised Land'', in which he played Moritz, one of the three main characters. The actor left Poland during the period of political unrest in 1980–81, when the Solidarity (Polish trade union), Solidarity trade union began and was ended by the imposition of martial law in Poland, martial law on 13 December 1981. Pszoniak found roles in France, where he was living and working. After the fall of communism in Eastern Europe in 1989, Pszoniak appeared in Polish movies and plays. Internationally, he simplified his first name into ''Wojtek'', which is the standard diminutive of the relatively formal ''Wojciech'' in the Polish language. KADR (since 1989 Studio Filmowe Kadr) is a major Polish film production and distribution company, founded in 1955 and still producing films as of 2016. Between its founding and 2003, KADR released 150 films in total, including many classics of Cinema of Poland, Polish cinema. History "Arguably the most important Polish film studio," Kadr was founded on May 1, 1955, by filmmaker Jerzy Kawalerowicz, and its initial output is closely associated with him. Czcibor ( la, Cidebur; died after 972), a member of the Piast dynasty, was a Polan prince, son of Duke Siemomysł and younger brother of the first Christian ruler, Mieszko I of Poland. Life According to E. Rymar (2005), Czcibor may have been a governor of the Pomeranian lands after Mieszko I's conquest of that West Slavic tribes territory from around 967 AD. In medieval sources, he is mentioned but once in the chronicles by Thietmar of Merseburg, in relationship with Poland's victorious Battle of Cedynia against the forces of the Saxon margrave Odo I (''Hodo'') in 972 AD. He is thought to have been either the commander or one of the principal Polish leaders, along with his brother Mieszko, and Thietmar is the source of his presence at the battle. Czibor's presence at Cedynia might have been based not only on his status as war leader and brother of the Polish ruler, but also by his position as 'governor' of conquered/annexed Pomerania.
