The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' , from German ''Gemeinde'' meaning ''commune'') is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,477 gminas throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminas include cities and towns, with 302 among them constituting an independent urban gmina ( pl, gmina miejska) consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). Gmina Bochnia
Bochnia Commune ( pl, Gmina Bochnia) is a '' gmina'' ("commune" or "municipality") within Lesser Poland Voivodeship in the south of Poland. It is situated on the borderline between two geographical regions: the Sandomierz Basin (''Kotlina Sandomierska'') in the northern part of the commune's territory, and the Wieliczka Piedmont (''Pogórze Wielickie'') in the southern part. The commune consists of 31 townships and covers an area of 131 km2. the number of residents was 19,358. Uście Solne is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Szczurowa, within Brzesko County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. The name of the village is tied to its location, at the mouth of the Raba, where it flows into the Vistula (Polish word "ujście" or "uście" means "river mouth").
