Gmina KÅ‚ecko
__NOTOC__ Gmina KÅ‚ecko is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Gniezno County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of KÅ‚ecko, which lies approximately north-west of Gniezno and north-east of the regional capital PoznaÅ„. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 7,569 (out of which the population of KÅ‚ecko amounts to 2,677, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 4,892). Massacre during Second World War During the German Invasion of Poland in 1939, German soldiers mass murdered 23 Poles in the area. Polska WieÅ› (; German: ''Paulsdorf'') is a village in the administrative district of Gmina KÅ‚ecko, within Gniezno County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. It lies approximately west of KÅ‚ecko, north-west of Gniezno, and north-east of the regional capital PoznaÅ„. In the years 1975-1998, the village administratively belonged to the PoznaÅ„ Voivodeship. According to the 2021 National Census, Polska WieÅ› was inhabited by 242 inhabitants, of which 49.6% were women and 50.4% men. History Polska WieÅ› was one of the few villages located in the Middle Ages under the so-called Polish law (at that time, a location based on Magdeburg law was much more popular). The village probably existed before 1523 and was part of the KÅ‚ecko starosty, created as a result of the division of the Åšroda starosty.
