Gmina Iłowo-Osada
__NOTOC__ Gmina Iłowo-Osada is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Działdowo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the village of Iłowo-Osada, which lies approximately south-east of Działdowo and south of the regional capital Olsztyn. The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 7,167 (7,359 in 2011). Villages Gmina Iłowo-Osada contains the villages and settlements of Białuty, Białuty Kolonia, Brodowo, Chorap, Dwukoły, Dźwierznia, Gajówki, Iłowo-Osada, Iłowo-Wieś, Janowo, Kolonie Narzymskie, Krajewo, Kraszewo, Mansfeldy, Mławka, Narzym, Pruski, Purgałki, Sochy and Wierzbowo. Until 2003 it also included the village of Piekiełko, which is now a part of the town of Mława in neighbouring Masovian Voivodeship. The gmina (Polish: , plural ''gminy'' , from German ''Gemeinde'' meaning ''commune'') is the principal unit of the administrative division of Poland, similar to a municipality. , there were 2,477 gminas throughout the country, encompassing over 43,000 villages. 940 gminas include cities and towns, with 302 among them constituting an independent urban gmina ( pl, gmina miejska) consisting solely of a standalone town or one of the 107 cities, the latter governed by a city mayor (''prezydent miasta''). Mława
Mława (; yi, מלאווע ''Mlave'') is a town in north-east Poland with 30,403 inhabitants in 2020. It is the capital of Mława County. It is situated in the Masovian Voivodeship. During the invasion of Poland in 1939, the battle of Mława was fought to the north of the city. History The first mention of Mława comes from July 2, 1426, when three princes of Mazovia - Siemowit V, Trojden II and Władysław I came here to a session of a local court. It is not known if Mława had already been an urban center, as there are no sources which would prove it.
