Gluecifer
Gluecifer is a Norwegian hard rock band based in Oslo. Formed in 1994, they produced several underground releases during their first years of existence and soon claimed to be "kings of rock". History In 1997, the album ''Ridin' the Tiger'' (released on record label White Jazz) provided an artistic and commercial breakthrough and placed Gluecifer along Hellacopters from Sweden at the forefront of the Scandinavian hard rock wave of the late 1990s. ''Basement Apes'', their fourth album, saw them signing with Sony Music, and ''Automatic Thrill'' became their biggest-selling record to date. The band played at the 2004 Quart Festival as warmup for Monster Magnet. In July 2005, the band announced their break-up. Gluecifer counted as one of the most successful rock bands of Norway. ''Tender Is the Savage'' is the third album released by the Norwegian band Gluecifer. It was originally released in 2000 on White Jazz Records. The album was re-released with extra tracks later that year. Izzat (2005 Film)
''Izzat'' is a 2005 Norwegian crime and action drama, also described as Nordic Noir. The film is written by Ulrik Imtiaz Rolfsen and Leon Bashir and directed by Ulrik Imtaiz Rolfsen. The film is set in Oslo during the late 1980s and early 1990s during the main characters childhood, and the mid 2000s when the characters have grown up to be adults, with the film being narrated in periodical flashbacks. The name of the film comes from the word " Izzat", found in the languages of Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu. The word means honour and is used to describe the cultural concept of honour, especially in the context of family and the men's role to protect the reputation of women in their family. The practice is found in South Asia where it is commonly practiced especially in North India and in Pakistan as well as in their diaspora communities. Bloodlights
Bloodlights is a Norwegian hard rock/melodic rock four-piece from Oslo, and formed by Captain Poon, former guitarist of Gluecifer. History Guitarist Captain Poon formed Bloodlights in 2006, after his hard rock outfit Gluecifer broke up in 2005. The name comes from the phenomenon of seeing red flashes right before passing out after consuming too much "of everything". After some time writing songs, Captain Poon stepped into the role as both guitar player and vocalist, taking a more melodic approach. After some rehearsals with drummer Jonas Thire of Amulet, bassist Ron Elly joined. Guitarist Howie B joined in March the same year, and the band spent most of their time recording demos and rehearsing. Quart Festival
The Quart Festival was an annual popular music festival that took place in Kristiansand, Norway in the beginning of July, from 1991 to 2008. It was the most visited music festival in Norway. It was first named ''Qvadradurmusivalen'' in 1991, but changed into the more ear-catching Quart Festival the following year. For several years Quart was the largest music festival in Norway, but went bankrupt in 2008 in part due to tough competition from the Hovefestivalen in Arendal and some Oslo-based festivals. Hellacopters
The Hellacopters are a Swedish garage rock band that was formed in 1994 by Nicke Andersson (vocals and guitar), Andreas Tyrone "Dregen" Svensson (guitar), Kenny Håkansson (bass) and Robert Eriksson (drums). Andersson (sometimes known as Nick Royale) had been the drummer for death metal band Entombed and Dregen was taking a break from his full-time band Backyard Babies. Dregen and Eriksson had been roadies for Entombed, while Håkansson was a childhood friend of Andersson's. The Hellacopters were initially conceived as a side project for Andersson and Dregen, but it eventually became the main songwriting and performance vehicle for Andersson.
