Trapt
Trapt is an American rock band formed in Los Gatos, California. Eight studio albums have been recorded to date: ''Amalgamation'' (1999), ''Trapt'' (2002), '' Someone in Control'' (2005), '' Only Through the Pain'' (2008), '' No Apologies'' (2010), ''Reborn'' (2013), '' DNA'' (2016), and ''Shadow Work'' (2020). Its lineup for all studio recordings have consisted of Chris Taylor Brown (vocals) and bassist Pete Charell (bass), with various members filling other roles over the course of their career. Trapt's biggest commercial success was their 2002 debut single, " Headstrong", which became a crossover hit to the pop charts and peaked at number 16 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. GLIMPSE Project
GLIMPSE is a 5-year project to investigate the controls on thinning at the margin of the Greenland Ice Sheet. It is based in the Glaciology Group at the School of the Environment and Society, Swansea University. The project is headed by Professor Tavi Murray and is funded through a Leverhulme Trust Research Leadership Award presented to Murray in mid-2007. Rationale Southern Greenland's margins and outlet glaciers are thinning at a dramatic rate, and this rate appears to be accelerating. These changes will have profound implications for global sea levels, ocean circulation, regional climate, and society. The acceleration in the rate of thinning represents more than simply melting, and coincides with major changes in the dynamics of outlet glaciers (e.g. Rignot & Kanagaratnam 2006). Spitzer Space Telescope
The Spitzer Space Telescope, formerly the Space Infrared Telescope Facility (SIRTF), was an infrared space telescope launched in 2003. Operations ended on 30 January 2020. Spitzer was the third space telescope dedicated to infrared astronomy, following IRAS (1983) and ISO (1995–1998). It was the first spacecraft to use an Earth-trailing orbit, later used by the Kepler planet-finder. The planned mission period was to be 2.5 years with a pre-launch expectation that the mission could extend to five or slightly more years until the onboard liquid helium supply was exhausted. This occurred on 15 May 2009. Without liquid helium to cool the telescope to the very low temperatures needed to operate, most of the instruments were no longer usable. GLIM (software)
GLIM (an acronym for Generalized Linear Interactive Modelling) is a statistical software program for fitting generalized linear models (GLMs). It was developed by the Royal Statistical Society's Working Party on Statistical Computing (later renamed the GLIM Working Party), chaired initially by John Nelder. It was first released in 1974 with the last major release, GLIM4, in 1993. GLIM was distributed by the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG). GLIM was notable for being the first package capable of fitting a wide range of generalized linear models in a unified framework, and for encouraging an interactive, iterative approach to statistical modelling.
