Glenn H. Randall Sr.
Glenn H. Randall Sr. (1908-1992) was a professional horse trainer, best known for training the horse Trigger for the television series ''The Roy Rogers Show''. He developed over 30 hand commands to which the palomino responded. Randall Sr. also trained Gene Autry's horse Champion the Wonder Horse. His other work as a horse trainer for television and film includes the 1956 film '' Stranger at My Door'' and the 1959 film '' Ben-Hur''. Starting months before photography began, he trained around 40 horses for ''Ben-Hur'', including the four whites (Altair, Rigel, Antares, and Aldebran) that Charlton Heston drove in the chariot race. Trigger (horse)
Trigger (July 4, 1934 – July 3, 1965) was a palomino horse made famous in American Western films with his owner and rider, cowboy star Roy Rogers. Pedigree The original Trigger, named Golden Cloud, was born in San Diego, California. Though often mistaken for a Tennessee Walking Horse, his sire was a Thoroughbred and his dam a grade (unregistered) mare that, like Trigger, was a palomino. Movie director William Witney, who directed Roy and Trigger in many of their movies, claimed a slightly different lineage, that his sire was a "registered" palomino stallion (though no known palomino registry existed at the time of Trigger's birth) and his dam was by a Thoroughbred and out of a " cold-blood" mare. A stunt coordinator, usually an experienced stunt performer, is hired by a TV, film or theatre director or production company for stunt casting. Their job is to arrange the casting (stunt players and stunt doubles) and performance of stunts for a film, television programme or a live audience. Champion the Wonder Horse was the on-screen companion of singing cowboy Gene Autry in 79 films between 1935 and 1952, and 91 television episodes of ''The Gene Autry Show'' between 1950 and 1955.
