Glenn Cannon
Glenn Cannon (November 21, 1932 – April 20, 2013) was an American actor and educator best known for his roles on ''Hawaii Five-O'' and ''Magnum, P.I.'' He also appeared on ''Lost'' in a pair of different roles. Cannon's career began back to the 1950s with roles in shows like ''Alfred Hitchcock Presents'', '' The Outer Limits'' and ''Combat!''. On ''Magnum, P.I.'', Cannon was featured as Dr. Ibold, while on ''Hawaii Five-O'', he played Attorney General John Manicote. In the mid-1960s he taught elementary school in Los Angeles at Lanai Road School in Encino, California. In recent years, he served as president of the Hawaii chapter of the Screen Actors Guild and its successor group, SAG-AFTRA. Cannon was a Professor of Theatre at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and also co-director of the UH-Manoa Cinematic and Digital Arts program. Hawaii Five-O (1968 TV Series)
''Hawaii Five-O'' is an American police procedural drama series produced by CBS Productions and created by Leonard Freeman. Set in Hawaii, the show originally aired for 12 seasons on CBS from September 20, 1968, to April 8, 1980, and continues in reruns. At the airing of its last episode, it was the longest-running police drama in American television history and the last scripted primetime show that debuted in the 1960s to leave the air. The show starred Jack Lord as Detective Captain Stephen "Steve" McGarrett, the head of a fictional state police task force in Hawaii. The theme music composed by Morton Stevens became especially popular. Many episodes in the series would end with McGarrett's catchphrase, "Book 'em, Danno!" Mad Dog Coll (1961 Film)
''Mad Dog Coll'' is a 1961 biographical movie directed by Burt Balaban. It marked the film debuts of both Telly Savalas and Gene Hackman. Plot The film is a heavily fictionalized treatment of the life of Vincent "Mad Dog" Coll Curran, who was born in 1908 in County Donegal, Ireland. In the film, Coll is depicted as growing up with an abusive father who beats and ridicules him (the film opens with him machine-gunning his father's gravestone), and started a street gang at a very young age, which led in turn to organized crime. He is portrayed as a psychopath, incapable of fear or compassion, who is never more happy than when he is recklessly shooting people with his tommy gun or feuding with the fellow mobster Dutch Schultz over whisky hijacking. ''Picture Bride'' is a 1995 American Japanese-language feature-length independent film directed by Kayo Hatta from a screenplay co-written with Mari Hatta, and co-produced by Diane Mei Lin Mark and Lisa Onodera. The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) was an American labor union which represented over 100,000 film and television principal and background performers worldwide. On March 30, 2012, the union leadership announced that the SAG membership voted to merge with the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) to create SAG-AFTRA. According to SAG's Mission Statement, the Guild sought to: negotiate and enforce collective bargaining agreements that establish equitable levels of compensation, benefits, and working conditions for its performers; collect compensation for exploitation of recorded performances by its members, and provide protection against unauthorized use of those performances; and preserve and expand work opportunities for its members.
