Glen Whisby
Glen Whisby Jr. (June 29, 1972 – September 21, 2017) was an American professional basketball player. Standing at , he played the Center (basketball), center position. He played college basketball at the University of Southern Mississippi. College career Whisby attended Brookhaven High School and played for school team. After graduation from high school, he attended University of Southern Mississippi where he played for Southern Miss Golden Eagles basketball, Golden Eagles from 1991 to 1995. Whisby averaged 13.8 points per game during his career at Southern Miss, and is ninth on the all-time points list with 1,598. He was a three-time All-Metro Conference selection during his Golden Eagle career. He ranks second to Clarence Weatherspoon for career blocks (222) and ninth in scoring (1,598 points). Basketbal Pezinok was a Slovak professional basketball club, based in Pezinok, Slovakia. The club used to compete in the Slovak Extraliga. Pezinok is the most successful team in Slovak basketball history, having won a record 9 national championships. USBL
The United States Basketball League (USBL) was a professional men's spring basketball league. The league was formed in 1985 and ceased operations in 2008. The USBL started in 1985 as one of the first basketball leagues to play a late-spring to early-summer schedule. The league quickly became known as a development league for players, with many players moving up to the National Basketball Association, NBA and many more playing in Europe after stints here. In 1996, the league made a stock offering, a rarity among sports leagues. However, in later years, the league declined as rival leagues appeared and USBL had a tougher time replacing teams that folded. In the last two seasons, the league was mainly a midwestern league, with teams mainly in Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. The Fort Wayne Fury was a professional basketball team in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) from 1991 through the cessation of the CBA on February 8, 2001. Clarence Weatherspoon, Sr. (born September 8, 1970) is a former American professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) born in Crawford, Mississippi. He is currently the assistant coach for Jones County JC. Previously, he was an assistant coach for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. At the University of Southern Mississippi, Weatherspoon was a three-time Metro Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year, the only player in conference history to achieve the feat three times.
