This article presents the discography of American singer, songwriter, and guitarist Glen Campbell. Campbell recorded and released 60 studio albums and seven live albums between 1962 and 2017. He also lent his vocals to four soundtracks for motion pictures (''True Grit (1969 film), True Grit'', ''Norwood (movie), Norwood'', ''Rock-a-Doodle'', and ''Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me''). He placed a total of 82 singles (one of which was a re-release) on either the Hot Country Songs, ''Billboard'' country chart, the Hot 100, Billboard Hot 100, or the Adult Contemporary (chart), Adult Contemporary chart, nine of which peaked at No. 1 on at least one of those charts. Glen Campbell
Glen Travis Campbell (April 22, 1936 â€“ August 8, 2017) was an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, actor and television host. He was best known for a series of hit songs in the 1960s and 1970s, and for hosting ''The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour'' on CBS television from 1969 until 1972. He released 64 albums in a career that spanned five decades, selling over 45 million records worldwide, including twelve gold albums, four platinum albums, and one double-platinum album. Born in Delight, Arkansas, Campbell began his professional career as a studio musician in Los Angeles, spending several years playing with the group of instrumentalists later known as " The Wrecking Crew". After becoming a solo artist, he placed a total of 80 different songs on either the ''Billboard'' Country Chart, ''Billboard'' Hot 100, or Adult Contemporary Chart, of which 29 made the top 10 and of which nine reached number one on at least one of those charts. ''Galveston'' is the twelfth studio album by American country music singer-songwriter Glen Campbell, released in March 1969 by Capitol Records. The album was a major hit for Campbell, reaching number one on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and generated the number one hit single on the Hot Country Singles and Easy Listening charts, " Galveston", written by Jimmy Webb, who also wrote the follow-up single, " Where's the Playground Susie", which peaked at number 28 on the Hot Country Singles chart and number 10 on the Easy Listening chart. The front cover is a photograph of Galveston Beach, Galveston, Texas. Critical response In his review for ''Allmusic'', Bruce Eder gave the album four and a half out of five stars, calling it "a smooth, lively, sentimental, and occasionally even exciting album." ''That Christmas Feeling'' is the tenth album (and first Christmas album) by American singer-guitarist Glen Campbell, released in 1968 by Capitol Records. Reissues While the album has never been formally reissued on CD in the United States, the Netherlands-based Disky Records label issued a CD version (with different cover art) in 2003. In 2010 Capitol Records Nashville made the album available as a digital download, with the original cover art and two bonus tracks (" The Night Before Christmas" and " Silent Night") taken from the 1969 BFGoodrich compilation album ''The Christmas Sound of Music''. In 2013, Capitol Records reissued it in the United States, but with a different title (''Icon Christmas'') and cover art. Bobbie Gentry (born Roberta Lee Streeter; July 27, 1942) is a retired American singer-songwriter, who was one of the first female artists in America to compose and produce her own material. Gentry rose to international fame in 1967 with her Southern Gothic narrative " Ode to Billie Joe". The track spent four weeks at No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and was third in the Billboard year-end chart of 1967, earning Gentry Grammy awards for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1968. Gentry charted 11 singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and four singles on the United Kingdom Top 40. Her album ''Fancy'' brought her a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. ''Gentle on My Mind'' is the sixth album by American singer-guitarist Glen Campbell, released in 1967 by Capitol Records. Background The centerpiece of the album is "Gentle on My Mind". Campbell heard songwriter John Hartford's original version on the radio and fell in love with this song about memories of a lost love. At the time, Campbell was under contract with Capitol Records as a solo artist but had little success in establishing a name for himself in the public eye. Campbell gathered some of his fellow session players from the famous " Wrecking Crew" gang (which included Leon Russell credited as Russell Bridges) to come into the Capitol studio to record a demo version that he could pitch to his producer.
