Gleb Chugunov
Gleb Chugunov (born 17 December 1999) is an international speedway rider from Russia, who rides on a Polish licence. Speedway career Chugunov won a bronze medal at the Speedway World Cup in the 2017 Speedway World Cup. The following year the competition was rebranded as the Speedway of Nations and Chugunov has twice been credited with a gold medal for being part of the victorious Russian side in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, he switched his licence and now represents Poland. Chugunov controversially revealed that he married a Polish girl in order to obtain a Polish racing licence. The marriage allowed him to race while Russian riders were banned. He signed for GKM Grudziądz for the 2023 Polish speedway season. WTS Sparta Wrocław, also known as Betard Sparta Wrocław for sponsorship reasons, are a motorcycle speedway team based in Wrocław, Poland. They were established in 1950. They compete in the Speedway Ekstraliga, PGE Ekstraliga and finished fifth in the 2022 Polish Speedway season play-offs. Alfred Smoczyk Stadium ( pl, Stadion im. Alfreda Smoczyka) is a stadium in Leszno, Poland. It is currently used for speedway matches and is the home stadium of Unia Leszno. The 2019 Speedway of Nations was the second FIM Speedway of Nations. The competition consisted of two race-off events and a two-legged final. The event was won by Russia for the second consecutive year. They beat Poland in the Grand Final with Australia taking the bronze medal. Artem Grigoryevich Laguta (russian: Артём Григорьевич Лагута; born 13 November 1990) is a Russian motorcycle speedway rider and member of the Russian national team. He is the 2021 World Champion. The Anatoly Stepanov Stadium is a 15,000-capacity Motorcycle speedway and Ice speedway in Tolyatti, Russia. History The stadium opened in 1963 and is the home of the Russian speedway team called the Mega Lada Togliatti. In 2019, the stadium hosted the 2019 Speedway of Nations (the World Cup of speedway).
