Mystery Machine is a Canadian rock band formed in 1990 in Vancouver. The core of the band consisted of Jordan Pratt, Luke Rogalsky, Bean (Chris Switzer) and Shane Ward. History Early years The band started in 1990 in Chilliwack, BC. They quickly grew a following around the Vancouver area with their musicianship, ear-splitting volume, unconventional, progressive song structures and often volatile and confrontational live shows. After winning the Vancouver Shindig contest the band was signed to Nettwerk Records. The band released their first album, Glazed, in 1993 and toured extensively in support of the album. Before working on a new record, Bean left the band and was replaced by Norm Thody from the band Captain Gravity. ''10 Speed'' In 1994, Mystery Machine was back in the studio recording "10 Speed", their second album. It was a shift from the progressive leanings of Glazed. Mushroom Studios
Mushroom Studios was a music recording facility located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with a long history in Canadian music. It has now been relocated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The studio hosted the recording of many classic albums, by such artists as Incredible Bongo Band, Heart, Bachman–Turner Overdrive, Loverboy, Queensrÿche, Chilliwack, Doucette, Skinny Puppy, 54-40, Raffi, Spirit of the West, Jane Siberry, Sarah McLachlan, SNFU, Tegan and Sara, Mutators, and Rymes With Orange.
