Glasshouse Mountains railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the town of Glass House Mountains in the Sunshine Coast Region. History The station opened in 1890 as Coonowrin (after nearby Mount Coonowrin) and was renamed Glass Mountains in February 1891 and Glass House Mountains in 1914. The official station name was later changed to Glasshouse Mountains, which differs from the Glass House Mountains after which it was named. Platform 1 has a steel shelter, while platform 2 has a wooden structure. Services Glasshouse Mountains is serviced by City network services to Brisbane, Nambour and Gympie North. To relieve congestion on the single track North Coast line, the rail service is supplemented by a bus service operated by Kangaroo Bus Lines on weekdays between Caboolture and Nambour as route 649. Glass House Mountains is a rural hinterland town and locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Glass House Mountains had a population of 5,065 people. Geography The town Glass House Mountains is located, approximately north of Brisbane. The town also has a train station and a railway line that runs northwards towards Northern Queensland and southwards to Brisbane. The Bruce Highway runs along the locality's eastern border. Glass House Mountains Road (Steve Irwin Way) passes through from south to north. History The original European farmers that settled in the area brought soccer with them, and it has remained a popular local sport. History On 16 December 1963, the present station building was opened by Minister for Transport Gordon Chalk. Landsborough Railway Station
Landsborough railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the town of Landsborough in the Sunshine Coast Region. History In 1998, construction began on Platform 2. In December 2006, the State Government announced the station would be upgraded. The work was completed in late 2007, and included the building of new platforms, rainwater tanks, shelters, lighting, and toilets. A new cark park was also built. These upgrades were part of an overhaul of the Caboolture to Landsborough section of the North Coast line. The section was to be duplicated in full by 2012, but so far only the Caboolture to Beerburrum section has been completed. This is now scheduled to be completed by 2021. On the eastern side of the station, a locomotive turning triangle remains in use, making Landsborough a popular destination for steam trains from Brisbane. History The North Coast line from Caboolture to Landsborough (which included a siding at Beerburrum) was completed on 1 February 1890. Beerburrum station was originally a single platform with a crossing loop. As part of the construction of a new 14 kilometre alignment for the North Coast line from Caboolture to Beerburrum, a new station was built immediately to the east, opening on 14 April 2009. History Caboolture station opened in June 1889 as part of the extension of the North Coast Line from Petrie, which opened in March 1888.
