Givi Berikashvili
Givi Berikashvili ( ka, გივი ბერიკაშვილი, 15 May 1933 – 10 April 2017) was a Georgian film and theatre actor. Born in the village of Kolagi, now part of the Gurjaani Municipality, Berikashvili graduated from the Georgian Institute of Theatre in 1956. Since then, he performed at the Drama Theatre of Rustavi, that of Sukhumi, and finally, at Marjanishvili Theatre in Tbilisi. His notable films include: ''Londre'', ''Wine Thieves'', '' The Wishing Tree'', '' Data Tutashkhia'', ''Everyone Wants to Love'', ''The Turtledoves of Paradise'', and others. The Wishing Tree (film)
''The Wishing Tree'' ( ka, ნატვრის ხე, , russian: Древо желания, drevo zhelania) is a 1976 Georgian drama film directed by Tengiz Abuladze. It won the Lenin Prize, the All-Union Film Festival main prize and other prizes. The film is based on Giorgi Leonidze's short stories. The textures of folk legend and striking visual allegory permeate ''The Wishing Tree'', an episodic pastorale set in a pre-revolutionary Georgian village and spanning four seasons in the lives of various village characters. People's Artist is an honorary title in the Soviet Union, Union republics, in some other Eastern bloc states (and communist states in general), as well as in a number of post-Soviet states, modeled after the title of the People's Artist of the USSR. Kote Marjanishvili State Academic Drama Theatre ( ka, კოტე მარჯანიშვილის სახელობის სახელმწიფო აკადემიური დრამატული თეატრი) is a state theatre in Tbilisi, Georgia. Sukhumi (russian: Суху́м(и), ) or Sokhumi ( ka, სოხუმი, ), also known by its Abkhaz name Aqwa ( ab, Аҟәа, ''Aqwa''), is a city in a wide bay on the Black Sea's eastern coast.
