''Give Us Tomorrow'' is a 1978 British crime film directed by Donovan Winter and starring Sylvia Syms, Derren Nesbitt and James Kerry. Plot After a bank manager leaves for work one morning, a criminal and his accomplice take his wife and children hostage; whilst at the branch, their accomplices force him to open the safe. Location Shots The credits say the film used Orpington, Kent for the location. The real house used was in the Kingsway area of Petts Wood. Bircwoood Road is also seen. The former, real, high street bank which was used, on the corner of Moorfield Road, still stands. The footage also briefly passes the railway station. Crime Film
Crime films, in the broadest sense, is a film genre inspired by and analogous to the crime fiction literary genre. Films of this genre generally involve various aspects of crime and its detection. Stylistically, the genre may overlap and combine with many other genres, such as drama or gangster film, but also include comedy, and, in turn, is divided into many sub-genres, such as mystery, suspense or noir. Screenwriter and scholar Eric R. Williams identified crime film as one of eleven super-genres in his Screenwriters Taxonomy, claiming that all feature-length narrative films can be classified by these super-genres. The other ten super-genres are action, fantasy, horror, romance, science fiction, slice of life, sports, thriller, war and western. Derek Ware (actor)
Derek Arthur Ware (27 February 1938 – 22 September 2015) was an English actor and stuntman, active from the late 1950s through the 1990s. Ware's parents were Arthur, a music hall performer, and his wife Margaret. After graduating from RADA in 1957, his earliest television work was on the BBC's cycle of Shakespeare's history plays, ''An Age of Kings'' (1960), as both actor and stunt arranger. For the director Peter Watkins, Ware was involved in the production of the docudramas, '' Culloden'' (1964) and ''The War Game'' (1966), both for the BBC. Ware was a stuntman and fight arranger for the early seasons of ''Doctor Who'' on which his company Havoc, founded in 1966, was involved as well as many other television shows into the 1970s, for both the BBC and ITV. The company entirely dominating the stunt work field for a time, but had been dissolved by the end of the 1970s. Carol Shaw (born 1955) is one of the first female game designers and programmers in the video game industry. She is best known for creating the Atari 2600 vertically scrolling shooter ''River Raid'' (1982) for Activision. She worked for Atari, Inc. from 1978 to 1980 where she designed multiple games including ''3-D Tic-Tac-Toe'' (1978) and ''Video Checkers'' (1980), both for the Atari VCS before it was renamed to the 2600. She left game development in 1984 and retired in 1990. Early life and education Shaw was born in 1955 and was raised in Palo Alto, California. Her father was a mechanical engineer and worked at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. In a 2011 interview, she said she did not like playing with dolls as a child but learned about model railroading from playing with her brother's set, a hobby she continued until college. Ken Barker is an Australian Roman Catholic priest. He is the moderator of the Missionaries of God's Love religious congregation and founder of the Young Men of God Movement. He received his training to become a priest from St Columba's College, Springwood, NSW and St Patrick's College, Manly. He finished a degree in theology, graduating with honours. He then returned to the University of Sydney and finished his science degree.
