''Give Us a Break'' is a British comedy drama television series which was originally broadcast on BBC One in a series of seven episodes between 22 September an 3 November 1983 with a feature-length Christmas Special the following year.Perry p.247 Synopsis A London wheeler dealer is extremely put out at having to look after his girlfriend's younger brother from Liverpool. Things change, however, when he discovers that he is a snooker prodigy. Geoff McQueen
Geoffrey McQueen (24 July 1947 – 6 July 1994) was a British television screenwriter. He is best known for creating Thames Television's long-running police procedural ''The Bill'' and the popular comedy-dramas '' Give Us a Break'', '' Big Deal'' and '' Stay Lucky''. A carpenter and joiner by trade he worked abroad for many years before he began writing in 1978. His first success was in 1982 when an episode of ''The Gentle Touch'' he had written was broadcast. He wrote for other shows, including ''Boon'', and two Jim Davidson sitcoms. David Sibley (actor)
David Sibley (born 16 July 1948) is an English actor. He is best known for character roles in several television series: as twisted radio DJ Tom Everett in BBC television detective series '' Shoestring'' (in the episode ''Mocking Bird''); and in ''Doctor Who'' as Pralix (in ''The Pirate Planet''). He appeared on a DVD extra when this story was released recently. His first regular television role was in Wings (BBC TV series) in 1977. Bill Wallis
William Wallis (20 November 1936 – 6 September 2013) was a British character actor and comedian who appeared in numerous radio and television roles, as well as in the theatre. Biography Wallis was born in Guildford in Surrey, the only son of Albert Wallis, a trainee fishmonger turned engineer, and his wife, Anne, a nurse. He attended Farnham Grammar School from 1948 to 1955, where he was head boy. He gained a State Scholarship to St John's College, Cambridge, and while at Cambridge met Peter Cook and David Frost. When Cook and the team took '' Beyond the Fringe'' to Broadway, Wallis took over the roles played by Alan Bennett.
