Yuri German
Yuri Pavlovich German (russian: Ю́рий Па́влович Ге́рман) ( – January 16, 1967) was a Soviet and Russian writer, playwright, screenwriter, and journalist. Life German was born in Riga (then part of the Russian Empire) and accompanied his father, an artillery officer, during the Civil War. He graduated from high school in Kursk and studied at the Technical School of Performing Arts in Leningrad in 1929. At age 17, he wrote the novel ''Rafael iz parikmakherskoi'' (Raphael of the barbershop), published in 1928, but did not consider himself a professional writer until he published the novel ''Vstuplenie'' (Entry), which met with the approval of Maxim Gorky, in 1931. Mark Grigoryevich Fradkin (Марк Григорьевич Фрадкин, May 4, 1914 – April 4, 1990) was a Soviet composer, author of numerous popular songs (many of which were co-written with poet Yevgeny Dolmatovsky) and musical scores for forty films. In 1979, Mark Fradkin received the USSR State Prize and, in 1985, he was granted the status of the People’s Artist of the USSR. Biography Mark Fradkin was born in Vitebsk, Russian Empire (now Belarus), to a family of doctors. In the 1920s, having graduated from the technological secondary school, Mark joined a clothing factory in Vitebsk. After two years there, he joined the Third Belorussian Theatre as an actor (later musical administrator). In 1934, he enrolled in the Leningrad Theatre Institute where he started writing music. Aleksei Makarovich Smirnov (russian: Алексей Макарович Смирнов; 28 February 1920 in Danilov – 7 May 1979 in Leningrad) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor. He performed in more than fifty films between 1959 and 1977. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1976). Early life Aleksei Smirnov was born on 28 February 1920, in the town of Danilov, Yaroslavl Oblast, to the Smirnov family: Makar Stepanovich Smirnov and Anna Ivanovna. In the mid-1920s they moved to Leningrad. After her husband's early death Anna Ivanovna had to raise her two children on her own - Aleksei had a younger brother Arkady. The Smirnovs resided in a communal apartment at 44 Petr Lavrov str. As a pupil, Aleksei Smirnov began acting in the school amateur theatre.
