Giv (Shahnameh)
Giv or Gev ( fa, گیو) is a legendary Iranian knight and one of the main heroes in the New Persian epic poem of ''Shahnameh'' (Book of Kings), the national epic of Iran. A member of the House of Karen, he is the son of Godarz, brother of Roham and father of Bizhan, as well as a descendant of Kaveh the Blacksmith. Giv also appears in another New Persian text, the ''Banu Goshasp-nama'', where he marries Banu Goshasp, the daughter of the mythological warrior Rostam. The character of Giv is most likely based on a historical figure—the father of the Parthian monarch Gotarzes II (). Giv is mentioned in the Middle Persian Zoroastrian document of ''Bundahishn'' as "Beirazd the wrestler," where he is referred to as one of the immortals that will aid the eschatological Zoroastrian saviour Saoshyant. The medieval historian al-Tabari (died 923) records Giv's name as ''Bīy'', while Hasan ibn Muhammad Qumi refers to him as ''Bīb'', and credits him with the foundation of a rural dist ... The Governor's Institutes Of Vermont
The Governor's Institutes of Vermont (GIV), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Winooski, Vermont, was established in 1982 under then-Governor Richard Snelling when Vermont’s Commissioner of Education and the Director of the Vermont Arts Council sought to provide greater depth in arts education to students in the state’s public schools. Founded in the Governor's School model, GIV has since expanded to provides accelerated learning residencies in many more topics on college campuses for Vermont teenagers, emphasizing the creation of a strong sense of community while providing hands-on learning for highly-motivated students. Since GIV was founded, the organization has worked with over 10,000 youth, partnered with 13 Vermont colleges and holds eleven residential summer institutes and two residential winter weekends. Gulfstream IV
The Gulfstream IV (or G-IV or GIV) and derivatives are a family of twinjet aircraft, mainly for private or business use. They were designed and built by Gulfstream Aerospace, a General Dynamics company based in Savannah, Georgia, United States, from 1985 until 2018. Aircraft power is provided by two Rolls-Royce RB.183 Tay turbofans. Upon delivery of the last G450, over 900 GIV/GIV-SP/G450 units had been produced. The last G450 was delivered on 19 January 2018 after 365 deliveries over 12 years, ending a 30-year production run, to be replaced by the G500. Development Gulfstream, in collaboration with Grumman, began work on the Gulfstream IV in March 1983 as a re-engined, stretched fuselage derivative of the Gulfstream III. Rostam Giv
Rostam Giv or lord Rostam Giv ( fa, رستم گیو alternative spellings: Rustam Guiv) (1888, in Yazd – October 7, 1980 in Whittier), was the founder of Giv charity foundation, the 3rd representative of Iranian Zoroastrians in Iranian parliament, and a senator of the Iranian Senate. Life Giv was born in 1888 in Yazd. His mother's name was Kharman and his father was named Shahpour. Giv completed his elementary education at Kay Khosravi school and learned English language in Yazd. In 1939, Giv was elected as the Zoroastrian's Representative in Iranian National Assembly after the death of Keikhosrow Shahrokh. He founded "Giv's Charity Foundation" in 1958 for supporting people in need. He was also selected as the senator of the Iranian senate in 1963, due to his charity work for the Iranian people.
