Gitarijada
Gitarijada ( sr-Cyrl, Гитаријада, lit=Guitar Fest) is a music festival held in Zaječar, Serbia. Held since 1966, Gitarijada is one of the longest lasting festivals in Serbia and in South Eastern Europe and the largest festival of young and unaffirmed bands in South Eastern Europe. Apart from the competition of unaffirmed bands from the region of SFRY, former Yugoslavia, the festival program includes performances of established acts. History Gitarijada was founded in 1966 by Zlatni Prsti guitarist and vocalist Momčilo Radenković. First Gitarijada was held in Dom JNA in Zaječar. During the following years, Kosta Kostadinović "Čauš" became the festival's main organizer. Because there were no official records of winners until 1974, not all the winners before this year are officially documented. Zaječar ( sr-Cyrl, Зајечар, ; ro, Zaicear or ) is a city and the administrative center of the Zaječar District in eastern Serbia. According to the 2011 census, the city administrative area has a population of 59,461 inhabitants. Zaječar is widely known for its rock music festival ''Gitarijada'' and for the festival dedicated to contemporary art '' ZALET''. Zlatni Prsti
Zlatni Prsti (Serbian Cyrillic: Златни Прсти, trans. ''The Golden Fingers'') were a Yugoslav rock band formed in Zaječar in 1970. Formed and led by guitarist and vocalist Momčilo Radenković, Zlatni Prsti were a prominent act of the Yugoslav rock scene in the 1970s. In the late 1970s, with the emergence of Yugoslav new wave scne, the band changed their name to Nokaut (Serbian Cyrillic: Нокаут, trans. ''Knockout'') and made a slight turn towards new wave sound, but failed to maintain their popularity and disbanded at the beginning of the 1980s. The band made two one-off reunions, in 2012 and 2016. Bjesovi
Bjesovi ( sr-cyr, Бјесови; trans. ''The Demons'') are a Serbian alternative rock band formed in Gornji Milanovac in 1989. The band was one of the most notable acts of the 1990s Serbian rock scene. Formed in 1989 by vocalists and songwriters Zoran Marinković and Goran Marić under the name Baader-Meinhof, the band started working under the name Bjesovi in 1990 and released their debut album ''U osvit zadnjeg dana'' in 1991. In 1994 the band released critically highly acclaimed untitled album, featuring heavy sound and dark introspective lyrics. After the album '' Sve što vidim i sve što znam'', released in 1997 and dealing with religious themes, the band ended their activity. In 2000 Marinković reformed the band. Galija
Galija ( sr-cyr, Галија; ) is a Serbian and Yugoslav rock band formed in Niš in 1977. The central figures of the band are brothers Nenad Milosavljević (vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica) and Predrag Milosavljević (vocals). A large numbrer of musicians passed through the band, with Milosavljević brothers and drummer Boban Pavlović being the only mainstay members. The band's first several releases were progressive rock-oriented, bringing them a loyal fanbase, but in the mid-1980s the band moved towards more mainstream-oriented sound. In the mid-1980s, the band was joined by guitarist Jean Jacques Roskam and multi-instrumentalist Bratislav "Bata" Zlatković. Mama Rock
Mama Rock is a Serbian and former Yugoslav rock band, best known for their hit ballad "Eva". History 1977 - 1992 History of Mama Rock begins with band Viktorija (not to be confused with Serbian rock singer Viktorija and her support band) whose members were Stojanović brothers, Zoran "Ciga" and Dragomir, and Nikolić brothers, Bane and Mirko, and which won the first place at 1974 Gitarijada music festival. In 1977 drummer Šomi and guitarist Slobodan Krnić joined Stojanović and Nikolić brothers and formed Mama Rock. Karizma (hard Rock Band)
Karizma ( sr-cyr, Каризма; trans. ''Charisma'') is a Serbian and former Yugoslav hard rock/glam metal band. Band history 1985 - 1994 Karizma was formed in Belgrade in 1985. They were inspired by bands such as Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden and Def Leppard. In 1988 Karizma won the first place at Gitarijada festival in Zaječar and released their debut album ''Vreme je za nas'' (''It's Time for Us'') in 1989, in the following lineup: Dušan Zarić (vocals), Dušan "Duca" Janićijević (guitar), Dragoljub "Đoki" Popović (guitar), Zoran Miletić (bass guitar), Dejan Tomović (keyboard) and Srđan Milenković (drums). Gornji Milanovac
Gornji Milanovac ( sr-Cyrl, Гoрњи Милановац, ) is a town and municipality located in the Moravica District of central Serbia. The population of the town is 24,216, while the population of the municipality is 44,406. The town was founded in 1853. Before 1859 the original name of the town was Despotovica ( sr-Cyrl, Деспотовица), after the Despotovica river passing by the town.
