Gishe
Gishe ( Amharic: ግሼ) also spelled as Geshe is a woreda in Amhara Region, Ethiopia. Located at the eastern edge of the Ethiopian highlands in the Semien Shewa Zone, Gishe is bordered on the south by the Menz Gera Midir, on the west and north by the Debub Wollo Zone, and on the east by Antsokiyana Gemza; the Wanchet River defines its western boundary. The name of this woreda is coming from the name of a district of the former province or kingdom of Shewa, Gishe Rabel. It contains parts of Abuye Meda, the largest plateau of Semien Shewa Zone. The administrative center of Gishe is Rabel. Other settlements in the woreda includes Darat, Dasa, Melek Ãmba, Seya, Wembada and Zoga Ãmba. Elevations in Gishe range from about 1200 meters along the Wanchet to over 3000 meters above sea level in the ridge of mountains that run near the eastern border of this woreda. Abuye Meda ( Amharic: አቡዬ ሜዳ) is a mountain plateau located between three woreda's; Gishe in the west, Antsokiyana Gemza to the north, and Efratana Gidim to the south. It is the highest elevation of the Semien Shewa Zone in the Amhara Region, Ethiopia. Antsokiyana Gemza
Antsokiyana Gemza ( Amharic: አንጾኪያና ገምዛ "Antsokiya and Gemza") is a wereda in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. This district is partly named for one of the districts of Shewa, Antsokia. Part of the North Shewa Zone, Antsokiyana Gemza is bordered on the south by Efratana Gidim, on the southwest by Menz Gera Midir, on the west by Gishe, and on the north and east by the Oromia Zone. The administrative center is Mekoy; other towns in Antsokiyana Gemza include Majete. Local landmarks in this district include the Tomb of Saint Gelawdewos, where the head of the holy emperor of that name was buried in 1562. Menz Gera Midir
Menz Gera Midir is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. It is partly named after the northern district of the former province of Menz, Gera Meder. Located at the eastern edge of the Ethiopian highlands in the Semien Shewa Zone, Menz Gera Midir is bordered on the south by Menz Lalo Midir, on the southwest by Menz Keya Gebreal, on the west by the Qechene River which separates it from the Debub Wollo Zone, on the north by Gishe, on the northeast by Antsokiyana Gemza, and on the east by Efratana Gidim. The administrative center of this woreda is Mehal Meda. Menz Gera Midir was part of former Gera Midirna Keya Gebriel woreda.
