Gisela Marziotta
Gisela Marziotta (born 19 March 1975) is an Argentine journalist, writer and politician, who is currently a member of the Argentine Chamber of Deputies representing the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires since 2020 for the Frente de Todos coalition. Early life and education Marziotta was born on 19 March 1975 in Bahía Blanca. Her family moved to Buenos Aires when she was 2 years old. She studied journalism at Taller Escuela Agencia and political science at the University of Buenos Aires. In the 90s she began her political involvement in the Radical Civic Union. Political career Marziotta was the 5th candidate in the Buenos Aires City '' Unidad Porteña'' list to the Argentine Chamber of Deputies in the 2017 legislative election. The Chamber of Deputies ( es, Cámara de Diputados de la Nación), officially the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, is the lower house of the Argentine National Congress ( es, Congreso de la Nación). It is made up of 257 national deputies who are elected in multi-member constituencies corresponding with the territories of the 23 provinces of Argentina (plus the Federal Capital) by party list proportional representation. 2021 Argentine Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Argentina on 14 November 2021. Half of the seats in the Chamber of Deputies and a third of the seats in the Senate were renewed. The election had previously been scheduled to take place on 24 October 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina. Open, Simultaneous and Mandatory Primaries (PASO) were previously scheduled to take place on 8 August 2021, but took place on 12 September 2021, having also been postponed due to COVID-19. There were proposals, backed by the ruling Frente de Todos, to scrap the primaries altogether due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The proposals were opposed by the Juntos por el Cambio opposition.
