Girona Futbol Club, S.A.D. is a professional football club based in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Founded on 23 July 1930, it plays in La Liga, to which they gained promotion in the 2022 Segunda División play-offs. Girona holds its home matches at the 11,810-capacity Estadi Montilivi. The club also has youth and amateur women's teams for competition. History Football became of a particular interest in Girona at the beginning of the 20th century. The first major club in the city was Strong Esport (founded in 1902 under original name of FC Gerundense). In the 1920s in Girona there were two new clubs, CE Gironí and UD Girona. After the disappearance of the UD Girona it was decided to create a new football team in the city. On 23 July 1930, in the café Norat in La Rambla of Girona, Girona Futbol Club was founded upon the dissolution of Unió Esportiva Girona for economic reasons. Estadi Montilivi
Estadi Montilivi is a multi-use stadium in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is used mostly for football matches and serves as the home ground of Girona FC. It was built and opened in 1970. After their first ever promotion to La Liga, Girona expanded the stadium for hosting 13,450 spectators. Later, its capacity was reduced to 11,810. History The side stand of the Montilivi Stadium was completed in June of 2010, seven months ahead of the schedule. Since the entrances were still not finished, the stadium was not open for public use in the 2009–10 season. On March 2, 2011, it was able to hold the first match with the side stands, and 9,285 spectators attended the event. Xerez Club Deportivo, known simply as Xerez, is a Spanish football team based in Jerez de la Frontera, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Xerez currently plays in Tercera División RFEF, the fifth tier of Spanish football. The 2014–15 Segunda División season (known as the ''Liga Adelante'' for sponsorship reasons) is the 84th since its establishment. The 2010–11 Segunda División season (known as the Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 80th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 27 August 2010, the regular league ended on 4 June 2011, and the season ended with the promotion play-off finals on 18 June 2011. The first goal of the season was scored by Javi Guerra, who scored a sixth-minute goal for Real Valladolid against Villarreal B in the early kick-off. The first red card of the season was given to Hernán Pérez from Villarreal B in their opening game against Valladolid. Raül Agné
Raül Agné Montull (born 24 May 1970) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a central defender, currently a manager. Playing career Born in Mequinenza, Province of Zaragoza, Aragon, Agné never competed in higher than Segunda División B during his 14-year senior career. He represented CD Mequinenza, Deportivo Aragón, Girona FC (two stints), UE Figueres, CD Binéfar, Palamós CF, retiring in 2004 at the age of 34. 2008 Segunda División B Play-offs
The 2008 Segunda División B play-offs (Playoffs de Ascenso or Promoción de Ascenso) were the final playoffs for promotion from 2007–08 Segunda División B to the 2008–09 Segunda División. The four first placed teams in each of the four Segunda División B groups played the ''Playoffs de Ascenso'' and the four last placed teams in Segunda División were relegated to Segunda División B. It also decided the two teams which placed 16th to be relegated to the 2008–09 Tercera División. AD Ceuta
Asociación Deportiva Ceuta was a Spanish football team based in the autonomous city of Ceuta. Founded in 1996, its last season was 2011–12 in Segunda División B, holding home matches at ''Estadio Alfonso Murube'', with a capacity of 6,500. History ''Agrupación Deportiva Ceuta'', another team from the city, was founded in 1972 and folded in 1991. The club played once in the ''Segunda División'', in 1980–81.
