Girls Lost (film)
''Girls Lost'' ( sv, Pojkarna) is a 2015 Swedish drama film directed by Alexandra-Therese Keining. It's based on the August Prize-winning novel ''Pojkarna'' (literary ''The Boys'') by Jessica Schiefauer. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. The film draws on elements of magical realism to explore notions of fluid sexuality and identity. Plot Best friends Kim, Momo and Bella are sexually harassed, bullied and assaulted by boys at school while their teachers do nothing. When they discover a flower whose nectar can temporally turn them into boys, they venture out after dark to test the transformation. Where Bella and Momo are more bewildered and tentative, Kim is elated by the newfound freedom of her male persona. While at a party hosted by Tony, Bella chokes when taking a hit from a joint. Alexandra-Therese Keining
Alexandra-Therese Keining (born 1976) is a Swedish writer, film director, and screenwriter. She is known for directing LGBTQ-related films such as ''With Every Heartbeat'' and ''Girls Lost.'' Early career Alexandra graduated with a film degree in Los Angeles. She made her debut in film with ''Hot Dog'', released in 2003. 52nd Guldbagge Awards
The 52nd Guldbagge Awards ceremony, presented by the Swedish Film Institute, honoring the best Swedish films of 2016 and took place on January 23, 2017 at Cirkus in Stockholm. The ceremony was televised by SVT, and comedian Petra Mede hosted the ceremony for the fifth time. She previously hosted the 46th, 47th, 50th, and 51st ceremonies. The nominees were presented on January 4, 2017. This year, the following categories has been expanded to four nominees: Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Actor, Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor, while the category of Best Film has been expanded to five. In addition to this changes, the documentary - and short film juries have been combined, and also introduced new rules, which requires the distributors of foreign films to register their films, in order to be eligible for a Guldbagge.
