''Girls in Prison'' is a 1994 American television film directed by John McNaughton. ''Girls in Prison'' originally aired on the cable television network Showtime in 1994 as part of the series ''Rebel Highway''. Plot A young aspiring singer is sent to prison after getting wrongly convicted of murdering a record company president in 1950s Hollywood. With the help of two other convicts whose backstories we see previously, she must survive as the real culprits send " hit girls" to kill her inside. One of these convicts connects her to a private investigator who tracks the culprits down, but the murderer has determined to silence her. Samuel Fuller
Samuel Michael Fuller (August 12, 1912 – October 30, 1997) was an American film director, screenwriter, novelist, journalist, and World War II veteran known for directing low-budget B movie, genre movies with controversial themes, often made outside the conventional studio system. Fuller wrote his first screenplay for ''Hats Off (1936 film), Hats Off'' in 1936, and made his directorial debut with the Western ''I Shot Jesse James'' (1949). He would continue to direct several other Westerns and war thrillers throughout the 1950s. Fuller shifted from Westerns and war movies in the 1960s with his low-budget thriller ''Shock Corridor'' in 1963, followed by the neo-noir ''The Naked Kiss'' (1964). He was inactive in filmmaking for most of the 1970s, before writing and directing the semi-autobiographical war epic ''The Big Red One'' (1980), and the drama ''White Dog (1982 film), White Dog'' (1982), whose screenplay he co-wrote with Curtis Hanson.
