Giovanni Zarfino
Jorge Giovanni Zarfino Calandria (born 8 October 1991) is a Uruguayan footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Spanish club Sporting de Gijón. Club career Born in Montevideo, Zarfino was a Boston River youth graduate. He made his senior debut on 12 October 2013, starting in a 0–0 home draw against Cerrito for the Uruguayan Segunda División championship. Zarfino scored his first senior goal on 26 October 2013, netting the first in a 2–1 away win against Tacuarembó. On 30 June 2015, after featuring regularly, he moved to Primera División side Danubio. Zarfino made his debut for Danubio on 11 August 2015, starting in a 0–1 Copa Sudamericana away loss against Universidad Católica. The 2019–20 Segunda División season, also known as LaLiga SmartBank for sponsorship reasons, was the 89th since its establishment. On 12 March 2020 after most of teams had played 31 games, the league was suspended for at least two weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. The league was suspended indefinitely on 23 March. The season recommenced on 10 June and was initially planned to be completed on 20 July. On 20 July 2020, the final day of the regular season, Deportivo La Coruña's match against Fuenlabrada was suspended indefinitely due to several Fuenlabrada players testing positive for COVID-19, therefore, delaying the official end of the season. 2018 Segunda División B Play-offs
The 2018 Segunda División B play-offs (Playoffs de Ascenso or Promoción de Ascenso) are the final playoffs for promotion from 2017–18 Segunda División B to the 2018–19 Segunda División. The four first placed teams in each one of the four groups qualify for the promotion playoffs and the four last placed teams in Segunda División are relegated to Segunda División B. It also decides the teams which placed 16th to be relegated to the 2018–19 Tercera División. Format The four group winners have the opportunity to promote directly and become the overall Segunda División B champion.
