Giovanni Urbinati
Giovanni Urbinati (aka Gio) is an Italian ceramist and sculptor. He currently lives in Rimini, Italy, and he has been exhibited both in Italy and abroad. Biography Giovanni Urbinati started the ceramist craft in 1965 at the atelier “Ceramica Stella Alpina”. In the 1969 he opened his first workshop in Rimini and he started his research on materials, glazes and luster. Gio' mould and fired any kind of earth : clay, gres, porcelain and even earth from his garden. In 1988, he met Tonino Guerra and since then they started a collaboration that brought them to create in 1990 the exhibition “La Cattedrale dove va a dormire il mare/The Cathedral where the sea goes to sleep” at the deconsecrated church in Budrio near Bologna. In 1991, Gio' made in Bascio Alta, a village close to Pennabilli, the “Petrified garden” by a Tonino Guerra idea. Tonino Guerra
Antonio "Tonino" Guerra (16 March 1920 – 21 March 2012) was an Italian poet, writer and screenwriter who collaborated with some of the most prominent film directors in the world. Life and work Guerra was born in Santarcangelo di Romagna. According to his obituary in ''The Guardian'', Guerra first started writing poetry when interned in a prison camp in Germany, after being rounded up at the age of 22 with other antifascists from Santarcangelo. At 30 he moved to Rome and worked as a schoolteacher. During this time he met Elio Petri, the future director of ''Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion'' (1970), who worked as assistant to Giuseppe De Santis. Guerra was able to get his first screenwriting credit after he and Petri went to the Abruzzi mountains to find out about wolf-hunting; "Though they discovered that wolf hunters no longer existed, De Santis went ahead anyway with the film, ''Uomini e Lupi'' (Men and Wolves, 1957)". Budrio
Budrio ( Eastern Bolognese: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna, Italy; it is east of Bologna. Budrio is the birthplace of Giuseppe Barilli, better known under his pseudonym of Quirico Filopanti, an Italian mathematician and politician. History Budrio's area was a Roman colony, whose territory was divided between veteran legionaries. The current town was however founded in the 10th-11th centuries AD. The church of ''San Lorenzo'' was already active in 1146. Massimiliano Fuksas (born January 9, 1944) is an Italian architect. He is the head of ''Studio Fuksas'' in partnership with his wife, Doriana Mandrelli Fuksas, with offices in Rome, Paris and Shenzhen. Biography Fuksas was born in Rome in 1944; his father was Lithuanian Jewish while his Catholic mother was the daughter of a French father and an Austrian mother. At the beginning of the 1960s, he worked for Giorgio de Chirico in Rome. After he left Italy, he worked for a period for Archigram in London, for Henning Larsen and for Jørn Utzon in Copenhagen. He received his degree in architecture from the La Sapienza University in 1969 in Rome, where he opened his first office in 1967, the GRANMA, collaborating with his first-wife Anna Maria Sacconi.
