John Giorno
John Giorno (December 4, 1936 – October 11, 2019) was an American poet and performance artist. He founded the not-for-profit production company Giorno Poetry Systems and organized a number of early multimedia poetry experiments and events, including '' Dial-A-Poem''. He became prominent as the subject of Andy Warhol's film ''Sleep'' (1964). He was also an AIDS activist and fundraiser, and a long-time practitioner of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Biography Giorno was born in New York City, and was raised both in Brooklyn and the Long Island town of Roslyn Heights. He attended high school at James Madison High School in Brooklyn and graduated from Columbia University in 1958, where he was a "college chum" of physicist Hans Christian von Baeyer. At Columbia, he was a resident of Livingston Hall. While in his early twenties, he briefly worked in New York City as a stockbroker. , also known as ''Vento Aureo'', is the fifth story arc of the Japanese manga series ''JoJo's Bizarre Adventure'', written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. It was serialized in Shueisha's ''Weekly Shōnen Jump'' for a little under 4 years, from December 11, 1995, to April 5, 1999. In its original publication, it was referred to as . Within ''Golden Wind'', the ''JoJo's Bizarre Adventure'' title is rendered in Italian, as ''Le Bizzarre Avventure di GioGio''. As it is the fifth part of the series, the 155 chapters pick up where the fourth left off and are numbered 440 to 594, with the ''tankōbon'' volumes numbered 47 to 63. The ''JoJo's Bizarre Adventure'' manga series features a large cast of characters created by Hirohiko Araki. Spanning several generations, the series is split into eight parts, each following a different descendant of the Joestar family. Guy Giorno (born 1965) is a Canadian lawyer and conservative political activist. He has served in the administration of Ontario Premier Mike Harris and Canadian Prime ministers Stephen Harper. He is described to come from the Mike Harris school of politics. Career Giorno graduating from the University of Toronto’s law school in 1989, he wrote speeches for Mike Harris in his 1990 Ontario Tory leadership run. Giorno served an adviser and Chief of Staff to then Premier of Ontario Mike Harris in 2000. Giorno along with Mike Harris were seen as the only two insiders within the Ontario Progressive Party sympathetic to the Reform Party.
