Giorgio Rebuffi
Giorgio Rebuffi (7 November 1928 – 15 October 2014) was an Italian comics artist. Born in Milan, Rebuffi started his career in 1949 when, still being a university student at the Faculty of Medicine, he created the character Sceriffo Fox ("Sheriff Fox") for the publisher Edizioni Alpe. Shortly after the publisher placed him in charge to cure the stories of Cucciolo , Cucciolo and Beppe, two characters he revolutionised, changing their appearance, giving them well-defined personalities and enhancing the satirical side of their stories.Franco Fossati, ''I grandi eroi del fumetto'', Gramese, 1990. In 1952, he created his best known character, the bizarre superhero Tiramolla, characterized by the ability of being able to stretch as he wishes. Edizioni Alpe (also known for a time in the late 1940s as Edizioni Subalpino) was an Italian publishing house founded in 1939 and active until the late 1980s. Based in Milan, it published a series of magazines focusing on popular fiction genres—romance, science fiction, mystery—and the genre for which it was best known, comics. ''La Stampa'' (meaning ''The Press'' in English) is an Italian daily newspaper published in Turin, Italy. It is distributed in Italy and other European nations. It is one of the oldest newspapers in Italy. History and profile The paper was founded by Vittorio Bersezio, a journalist and novelist, in February 1867 with the name ''Gazzetta Piemontese''. Cucciolo is the title character of an Italian long-lasting comic book series. Tiramolla is an Italian comic book character created in 1952 by Roberto Renzi and Giorgio Rebuffi. Tiramolla (English language, English: Stretch-Spring) is a bizarre Superhero that resembles a stick figure with extensible slender body, oval face, long legs, a cylindrical head and a bow. Tiramolla has acquired the unique ability of being able to stretch as he wishes, even for several kilometers, after falling into a large container of rubber. He appeared for the first time in August 1952 as a supporting character in the comic series ''Cucciolo e Beppe'', in the magazine ''Cucciolo'', in the story "Il mistero della villa" (trad. Trottolino
Trottolino is the title character of an Italian humorous comics magazine. Background Trottolino was created in 1952 by Giorgio Rebuffi under the pen name "O'Layne" and was the title character of a comics magazine published between 1952 and 1990. It was the first comics magazine published by Renato Bianconi, a former collaborator of publisher Alpe; released without any marketing hype, it got an immediate commercial success and launched the career of Bianconi as a publisher. The comics magazine, similar in its digest-sized format to ''Topolino'', featured the adventures of an anthropomorphic squirrel. Pugacioff (also spelled Pugaciòff) is the title character of an Italian comic series created by Giorgio Rebuffi. Background Pugacioff was created by Rebuffi in 1959 as a supporting character in the comic series '' Cucciolo'', then he became protagonist of independent stories, published in various comics magazine of the publisher Edizioni Alpe.
